Tweety that is an odd presentation

Stars glad he was able to get the carpets mostly clean

Dianah it was a white bean artichoke soup

Ado thanks for the photo

Yesterday was not bad at work, although I was not feeling great most of the day, no so much physically as mentally.  Having to spend a fair part of lunch cleaning up cat vomit didn't help either.  But by the end of the day I had managed to work through things and felt better

Rest of the day was pretty calm, stopped by the pharmacy and library and exercised

Today have the book club after work, looks like a smaller than usual crowd

The weather will be nice, mid 60s with no rain

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and feel better.

I made myself get up early since tomorrow is my overtime day and I need to go to bed early.  Made some lentil soup, will go to the grocery store and do more prep, and doing a couple of loads of laundry.  Have yoga scheduled and need to get some eye drops for Slowbro.  The excitement never ends.

Have a great day.

Rainy and in the 60's today. I backed my car out from under the carport, hoping that a day in the rain MIGHT rinse off some of the pollen. Might even be 2 days in the rain!

I could hardly make myself wake up enough to get dressed and come down to do Nannie's AM routine. I am on my 2nd cup of coffee, so here's waiting on the A-LERT-NESS to kick in.

Found Nannie up in the recliner with her 'usual' interesting self-dressing ......two socks on the left foot, a black sock with a white sock over it, and a maroon sock on the right foot, plus NO pullups or pads. Got her up and into the bathroom to wash and dress her, and put on matching socks. She's had her breakfast and meds, and has remarked at least half a dozen times, so far, that "it is raining out there". I shouldn't jinx things, but there have been no comments about the shoes yet!

Even though I have some of my own laundry to do, I may just ignore it for another day. In fact I have nothing in mind as far as what I might be doing today; it seems like a good day for doing nothing! I may put a few things back in the kitchen (we'd moved out everything but the table and one chair). And probably will do some dishes at some point in time. If I get irritated with myself enough for not doing so yet, I MAY actually fill the medisets I also keep ignoring. But I am not going to worry about any of it, so WHO KNOWS!???

Nannie is already starting to doze. (YAY!)  I guess I will scan the new-feeds and see what is aggravating in the world today....just about everything is, anyway. I keep seeing the whole world falling apart in a myriad of ways....too many, IMHO. (BAH.)

Oh well, and anyways.....

Later!

Having put a lumbar pillow behind Nannie, and a loose, fluffy baby-pillow cradling her neck, she is in the recliner with her spine aligned and her head NOT drooping over. She keeps waking up and saying, "What?"    Maybe her body WANTS to slump and droop like she usually does. When she wakes up and looks at me with a puzzled look on her face I keep telling her, "Nothing! Everything is fine." She says "Okay, good." and dozes off. But just MAYBE it will keep her neck and right shoulder from aching all the time. Now if I only could do something about "the shoes" !!! 😂

Partly sunny around 50 degrees. It warm up to 60 by the weekend, I hope. I've been chasing the vacuum around. I had aspirations of cleaning bathrooms, but this couch feels pretty nice. We bought a little 2 drawer filing cabinet that I will transfer some paper records too, and then get rid of the giant ugly 4 drawer beast.
I had more back and forth with the Dr office yesterday. The nurse seems to want to insert herself into a convo that I plan to have with doc at the end of the month, in person. This nurse has scolded me in the past, so I'm not even going there with her.

Annie, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the eclipse. I've seen lots of cool pictures on line.
Stars, I'm sure the floor looks much better. We have carpeting on our stairs that is usually used in offices. It's a short, tight nap that doesn't show the dirt.
maybe Nannie could use one of those airline pillows for her neck?
I'm playing trivia tonight so I think I should take a nap to prepare...

Hello all!

Good on ya, No Stars, for aligning Nannie's head and neck and spine!  I'm sure the floors look MUCH better after the work was done.

nursej22, I like that, "I had aspirations of ______________ (fill in the blank)."  My favorite line is, "A description of my housekeeping method is, 'there appears to have been a struggle.'"  🙂

Joe, what book is your book club meeting about tonight?

Tweety, I have a new lentil recipe I will try in the next day or so (after the tomato soup and mushrooms paprikash are gone).

It is 75 degrees out, with a lovely breeze!  I didn't sleep more than 3 hours last night, for whatever reason.  I was sure tired when I went to bed, but then was awake as long as I was supine!  Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.  I had my 2pm dental cleaning (X-rays included), then stopped by the store for a couple things.

When I got home I decided to try making some refrigerator-pickled red onions and pickled carrots.  We'll see how they turn out!  I love the pickled carrots and daikon that is used on the bahn mi Thai sandwiches, am hoping to get a taste of that kind of flavor.

Dh has the wide cam view of the trees that the eagles often roost on, with a background view of the lake beyond, and the mountains in back of the lake.  It is a very peaceful view, and relays sound effects too, so one can hear birds chirping and the wind blowing through the trees.  The camera even sways, as its tree sways with the winds.

Hope you all have a good evening!

This has been an exasperating afternoon. Nannie had to go to have a BM, but couldn't poop. I managed to get some small flecks to move along, they were the ones that were hanging out, so to speak. I had her do some repetitions where she would bend and twist from the waist, and bear down, but no more would come out. How can someone who eats plenty and drinks well (fruits and veggies and juice and BOOST) how can it be she gets sooooo constipated from one day to the next?  If it wasn't raining and it wasn't already night time, I would make her go out and walk the driveway!

She ate a bowl of mixed fruit (strawberries, grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, and blackberries), a full glass of cran-apple  juice, and some crackers with homemade spinach dip loaded on them (more spinach than dip), but ate only 1/3 of her entree (chicken and pasta). (Yesterday at SiL's she ate fresh fruit and a salad, too). She has gone into the bathroom 3x but didn't poop and only peed one of those times.

Then she had to get up again to "check on" her bedroom. She remade her bed the first time; the 2nd she got up, she looked through all the clothes hanging on the rod, came back out, sat for <5 minutes and had to get up again. She says she doesn't know if she is restless, doesn't know if she is sleepy, doesn't feel "bad". GADS! I finally let her go to bed at 8:15, but I'll bet she is back up in 10-15 minutes. Tomorrow I will go out and get some glycerine suppositories, and some Fleet's mini-enemas. And if all else fails, CASTOR OIL!  And she needs more exercise, though she has been going out w/ SiL 2-3 times a week, climbing in and out of the car, etc.  I said if it wasn't raining tonight I'd make her walk the driveway like she used to. In fact, we may initiate mandatory walks every day! SiL and I have been wracking our brains trying to figure out why she gets so "stove up" as they say here in the South, when, in fact, her dietary and fluid intake is at better than it used to be, and everything we can think of to help her problem and get the poop out has not worked so far. But I know it is up there, I could feel it just with the tip of my finger. She wouldn't tolerate a digital disimpaction. I think I hear her stirring around in her bedroom again and I am tired of this! GADS!

You can tell I am beside myself because I have repeated myself several times!

Yup, she's up again: "Can I go to the bathroom?"

Sure!

Nope, she only peed again.

She comes out of the bathroom asking me what I wanted her to do. I told her she could do whatever she wants to do....sit out here in the den, or go to bed; I give up on trying to get her to do anything.
