Wow Stars, that would be scary having something like that happen not too far away

Hi Tweety

NJ22 long car rides can be tiring even if you're not driving.

Ado hope things settle down for you once the bedbugs are gone and the car fixed

Felt better yesterday, now that I'm back on my usual diet and exercise routine.  Work wasn't too bad, though I will be glad when my coworkers is back on Thursday.  Think we have a meeting today

Rest of yesterday was fairly quiet.  Set up an event for the over 50 group for next month, we'll see if anyone shows up

Tonight going out to eat with the church group, thankfully a place quite close by

Should be a nice day today in the mid 70s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and enjoy the dinner.

Ado, hope the treatment takes care of the bed bugs.  When it rains it pours sometimes.  Hope things settle down.

You know you're getting old when "sleeping in" means getting up at 7AM.  LOL

Found an eggplant recipe to make and hope to go to hot yoga this afternoon.

Have a great day!

I'm feeling really low today. I need to stay away from the news. Too much badness.

It's sunny/rainy/sunny today, and not very warm. Ick. I may run to the electronics store to get a charging cable for my wireless earbuds and grab something for dinner. Dh found a recipe for red wine chocolate pie. It includes an entire bottle of red wine. Uh, I like a little bit of wine, but that did not sound good at all.

Stars, I feel for the families of those fallen police officers. They seemed so young.

Annie, fingers crossed that the bug situation is under control. Cars. Ugh, always letting one down.

Joe, I agree. When I eat healthy and get plenty of exercise, I feel so much better. Do you see geese where you live? I saw a pair of adult Canada geese with a clutch (I don't know if that's the right word) of 6 or 7 goslings at the park. So darn cute. I also heard a woodpecker, but I couldn't see him in the trees.

Yes, Tweety. I can't seem to sleep in either, no matter how late I stay up.

No troubles sleeping in here 🙂though I do wake a couple of times during the night and sometimes have trouble going back to sleep then.

Tweety, I don't know if I could stand hot yoga. Stepson used to do it. I'm afraid I'd feel like I couldn't breathe.

Hubs and the technician came to the conclusion that the mattress cover we put on Twin A's bed (supposed to be bug-proof) kept the heat from killing all of them. Then at some point, a hole developed in that cover (one or more cats may have been involved), allowing the bugs to return. I don't know. I just know that I hope this is the end of it. We disposed of both boys' mattresses and bought new beds for both of them.  (In Twin B's case, not because of bugs but because it was on old and cheap mattress and not supportive enough since he has gotten so big)

Don't get me started on cars. They're such money pits but we have to have them. I feel like we are hanging on to middle class with the tips of our fingernails and slipping away. I'm sure my parents felt like they were setting us up to be quite comfortable by making sure we got college educations. And I was supposed to be so smart and so likely to succeed. So count me among the ones feeling down. And Hubs is irritated with me and the boys because he feels we don't carry our weight.

To paraphrase The Weight by The Band:....."Take the load off",Annie/ and put it right back on your hubs! THERE! I'm having some kind of time getting things done around here for ME, because I am always having to care of everything for You-Know-Who. She is currently over at SiL's house; they will bring her back in an hour or so (yippee. NOT!) but I am also going to get a supper plate sent over for me, when she is returned, so that's good. So far my 'time off' is always Errands Time; maybe one of these days I will actually have a day off ALL to myself!

Ugh, we had car trouble last night, returning from a Disneyland trip (a one-hour drive).  We got multiple error messages on the car's computer screen, and the car seemed to jolt sometimes, as if it was shifting (a rough shift).  By the time we got home, and I was pulling into the driveway, the engine worked well, but the transmission didn't engage.  It just sat there and revved, as I pressed the accelerator.  I turned the car off, we unloaded it, and then dh restarted it (we were in the angled driveway, half on the sidewalk) and was able to park it.  He drove it to the dealer (we have a good extended warranty), and it worked but when he was almost to his destination, the error messages began appearing again, and the transmission didn't "connect."  Again.  When he explained the issues we were feeling/having, and the messages we got (those error messages are retrievable, so we didn't have to memorize them and relay them to the service ppl), the service person said they would check things out, but first impression was, the battery was going low, which he said could impact MANY systems in the car, as we experienced.  If it's not the battery, they will continue checking until they locate the issue and correct it.  Meanwhile, dh rented a car for errands/coverage.

Some images from yesterday's visit - flowers, the marching band, some from Toontown, and one of us dressed dapper.  It was a fun day!

dianah, You and your husband look SO VERY DAPPER! What a nice picture of you two!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

Very nice pictures, dianah! Thanks!

Hubs hopes he has the convertible's problems managed, for now. His frustration was made worse because Twin A left the lights on on the Jeep and ran the battery down (can't leave it on auto because of a weird intermittent electrical problem). The Jeep was also very very low on fuel. And the Neon is leaking antifreeze.

I made some overnight oats that I will try to remember in the morning. I found a recipe that I want to try but need more bananas. We have only 1 and Hubs and Gma will have it with their breakfast

Great pictures Dianah.

I've been way out of the loop news wise lately, listening sporadically rather than trying to keep up daily like I usually do.  I think with it being an election year, I can't stand the news.  I hate sometimes how it's presented one news network (Fox) says "antisemitic protests" and the others say "pro-Palestinian" protests.

Sorry about the car woes.  I used to have bad car karma.  When I was 16, a used car I got broke down the first day I drove it and that started an adulthood of car trouble.  I also used to frequently get flat tires.  I had one car need $2000 worth of work one week after the warranty expired.  That's my luck.  I hate to say but it wasn't until I went Japanese that my karma got better.  I bought a used Honda that I kept for 10 years without much incident.  My 2018 Toyota is running well.  Now things like having to replace keys for $950 only to find them a week later happen to me.  LOL.

I took a nap yesterday morning and had to convince myself that I deserved to rest.  Chores didn't get done, and I didn't cook, but I made it to hot yoga.   I have to give myself permission that is enough.  Hot yoga isn't for everyone but I enjoy it.
