I'm currently on my second assignment in Cali (stay away from Kaiser hospitals) and I'm trying to switch agencies because they have just frustrated me to the point of no return with their level of incompetency. At first my housing wasn't ready, then my paychecks are incorrect each week or late altogether, etc. I'm looking into ACES, agnostini or On Assignment, but I'm a little unsure on which one is better. Please help!

Never ever break a contract unless there is a severe and unusual situation that would put your license in jeopardy.
I'm not trying to break my contract, but once it's up I wanna change agencies. I was thinking about ACES, AGOSTINI, ON ASSIGNMENT OR TRINITY. Any feedback?

There are many great agencies out there and many would be delighted to have you, most likely. Core Medical was a great one for me. They don't always have all the bells and whistles everyone else did but the one to one attention was INCREDIBLE. Hope you find an assignment and Agency that is right for you! Best, rn_imw

If you're looking to stay in California,I've heard Emerald is a good choice. I've also read on this site a lot of nurses like Onward Healthcare and Access nurses. I too want to renew my contract with a different agency. I'm in southern California. A few things that are important for me would be day one health care and having to deal with one person at the agency. I'm with Trustaff now and there are too many people involved. Plus, it takes my recruiter too long to return calls.

I'm currently with valley healthcare, I would stay, but I've been with them too long and nothing ever seems to go right...there's always something. Someone also mentioned to me that Medical Express was good, but I wanted any agency that would provide me with a rental car.

I didn't like agostini's contract, a few years ago it had stated that I would have to pay, I think it was around $200 per shift missed, even if I was called off for low census. Needless to say I did not sign it and called the hospital and briefly explained that when I recieved the contract it was not what the recruiter and I discussed and would she tell me what other agencies she ustilizes as I really wanted to work there. She gave me 3 other agencies she uses. Bryan Healthcare was one. She had contracts in northern CA and I think Reno too. I would also recommend Hospital Support. Mike pays well and will work with you.
If an agency has been giving you grief, why stay with them? There are over 300 travel nurse agencies out there.

You should give Access Nurses a call. I have been traveling with them for a few years now. They are awesome and have lived up to everything that they have promised. My housing is always exceptional and my recruiter is always available and ready to help with anything. I would highly recommend them!

I'm with Premier Healthcare Professionals - and I love them! They have been totally awesome from day 1. They have done all sorts of things they didn't have to just to make sure I had everything I needed. My recruiter either calls or e-mails me every week to check up, and all calls to them are either answered immediately (can you imagine?) or returned within the hour. Trustaff quoted me "the highest pay available," but I'm getting much more with PHP. Plus, Trustaff never returned my phone calls until the next day, and then they acted like they were the ones doing me a favor.

I'm with Medical Solutions....they've been really great. Great pay and per diems, really nice free private housing ( they even pay basic phone and cable). I'm working in New Mexico right now, but they have lots of assignments in California.
