I live in Atlanta, GA, am in my 50's and having trouble finding a job as CNA. Anybody else in the same situation?

I always see jobs posted for CNA's....not just where I live, but everywhere. Do you have a website you go to for job searching? I checked the ones I like daily along with Craigs List and there are several CNA jobs posted. Age won't matter....employers know they can not discriminate. I recently got hired for my first CNA position and I am 48 years old. Don't give up, just search like crazy and you'll find that perfect job. Good luck!

You helped lift my spirits up, thanks. Every application I filled out I have had to put my birth date down on, thus concerned that that could be a negative against me. They are not suppose to discriminate but that is hard to prove.

Have you looked into home health? That's another option..I see aides of all ages in HH & it seems very easy to get employment.

I work with nurse aides of all different ages at my facility. (nursing home) Some young, some old. Just keep searching, and something is bound to show up.

Yes, they seem to want experience. Still trying. Even submitted resume to company that is over 20 miles from me for live in service. I hate that I would have to do housework but I am getting desperate.
Wow that's tough. Have you tried applying at some assisted living facilities? I know the company I work for has a lot of facilities in Georgia.
Have applied to 3 hospitals, 2 home care services and 20 nursing home facilities. What is the name you your company?
Five Star Senior Living...there's also Sunrise Senior Living, I don't work for them, but its a very big company & I know that they have a lot of facilities in Georgia as well. Keep trying, I know its rough but you'll find something! It took me about 2 months to find my first CNA job. Good luck to you!!

Perhaps I am overly fortunate; or well-placed, possibly.
Completed CNA course early December; cannot take state test until mid-January.
Employed as nurse aide, weekends only, day shift (desired arrangement); the facility is a 5-minute walk from home. [Not that mngmt. c/n mess around with one's schedule, to suit other needs.)
And, just BTW, I am 69 y.o.

Remember the power of the universe. If you think "no one will hire me", no will hire you. Now got out there and get that job!
