Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi guys! I just wanted to start this for anyone who applied to the Tristar hospitals in Nashville, TN for their nurse residency program. I know the applications are open for a really long time period, so I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how long the process takes once you apply. Good luck to everyone in their searches!!

Did anyone get the email she said would be sent Friday? I didn't get one and just wanted to make sure I wasn't left off the list.

Don't worry, I didn't get it either! Maybe we'll hear from them tomorrow!

Has anyone applying for the tennessee license received their ATT yet? And if so when did yall submit your applications?

I have not yet! I applied the earliest I could after graduation which was late May. I am so concerned it will take weeks to process and delay when I am able to take the NCLEX. :(

I feel you! I applied May 12 and at the end of this week it'll have been 6 weeks since then. They told me I could call back after it's been 6 weeks to check on the process but last I heard they were still around May 8th applications so I am afraid it's going to be even longer than 6 weeks. It is very frustrating especially when other states have their stuff processed so quickly.

Is anyone in the skyline residency program? Do you like it? Is the pay the same as a nurse on the unit? Any info would be great!

TIA

Hi! I am trying to decide if I should interview for this residency and would love to know how you guys are liking it? Do you feel supported?

Also, do they hire new residents into the NICU or PICU? Would it benefit me to sign up for an earlier interview time?

Thanks!!

I’m in it and it helps transition from classroom to hospital setting. Everyone in my department is really nice and helpful. It does fill fast so I would interview earlier rather than later.

Regarding the specialty positions, there are still spots available. I was told by previous interviewers that centennial would push medsurg and they did. However, that does not mean positions are not available. I had several extremely qualified classmates interview for icu and Ed units who were passed over completely, or offered med surg. After hearing this, I was hesitant to even bother going. After laughing with one of my classmates saying “good luck with that led surg offer” (Bc we both wanted icu). A few days ago we were both offered ICU positions. DO NOT BECOME DISCOURAGED BY OTHER PEOPLES EXPERIENCES. Your interview, qualifications, experiences, and fit will determine whether they ask you to join. Don’t assume anything. let the offer speak to what’s available....nothing else.

Thank you for responding! Is there any relationship between the managers that interviewed you, and which position I may be offered? I interviewed with the high risk ob and nicu leaders, and I really feel like those positions are probably gone....I am probably reading to much into it, but why are some people being offered a position and I have only been offered the job shadowing? Should I anticipate that they area going to recommend an area I did not have listed in my top 3?

I think that is more so to see if you are a good fit for the team, before placing you on the unit
