Tri-C in Cleveland

Published

A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester :D. The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.

NewStart2010:yeah:

Huh, that's odd. I would definitely call to see what's going on! I received the e-mail from the nursing dept. containing the application today.

When you did the background check, did you receive the e-mail from Corporate Screening containing the user and pass to check your report? If there was any problem with your background check, I'd imagine you'd find out in the report.

Yeah... I think I may call them, refax it with my comfirmation and email them letting them know that I resent. Im kinda nervous now. On the application what semester was the first avaliable? I do not want this to prolong me getting into the program since I am basically done with all my classes besides the nursing ones. I checked the background check it was completed on the 6/28 with not record for anything.

Thanks Jay your so helpful

Not a problem at all. It's my pleasure to help -- we're both going through this process at the same time!

The first available semester to start was Spring 2012 @ the Eastern Campus, both "Day" as well as "Nights/Weekends." The rest were for fall 2012 @ every other campus. (metro, east, and west shore)

While you wait, you can always check the slot availability on the tri-c nursing website:

Well hopefully it doesnt fill up before I get this stuff straightened up. I am looking to go to eastern because it is so close to my house. If your going there see you then!! I will keep you poseted on my status. Thanks again!!!!

Braceshay....I think you might have missed the July applications, but most likely you will get it with the August e-mails. I took my hesi April 26th and didn't realize I had to have my BCI done right away, so by the time I did it and they got all the info I missed the June applications and just got mine now with the July rounds. That e-mail you received I got as well. I think it just means that they have not received the Background report yet. It does not mean there was something on your record.

I really hope you still get a July application.

It looks like I will be starting Spring 2012 at Eastern. Maybe I will see some of you guys there.

Good luck.

I called them today and asked they said they did receive my BCI but it is going the schools process. She says I should receive an e-mail in the up coming weeks(around the end of next week) . I just dont want the semester to get full. I hope to see you guys there in the spring!

Oh, that is great news. I know I was checking my e-mail a million times a day until I finally got it yesterday. Make sure when you get it you fill it out in Acrobat and mail it right back to them along with the form for choosing your campus. See you in the Spring.

Hello!!

I will be starting in spr 2012 at the metro campus (just got accepted today):yeah:. The eastern campus was my first choice because it is closer to where I live but I will take whatever I can get. I'm super excited and can't wait to finally start my nursing classes in january.

I will be in the day program and I currently work 3-1130 fulltime. I'm just wondering how many days a week are you in school and what are the hours of class, clinical, and lab? I would hate to drop to part time at my job but if it's the difference between failing and succeeding then so be it!

If Tri-C is anything like CSCC and you have any remote desire to keep a social life and/or your sanity, I would highly recommend going part-time. I am taking 3 classes right now (6 credit hour OB clinical with a lecture and seminar, nursing skill class/lab, and pharmacology) while working about 25 hours a week and I am so behind it is unreal and I haven't spoken to my family or friends in 1.5 weeks. And I'm a student with a previous bachelors degree who found my first stab at undergrad to be a cake walk.

Congratulations! I was accepted today too, although I'll be starting @ Metro Fall 2012 due to wanting to finish as many co-requisite classes as I can before starting the actual program.

From what I understand, clinicals are 2 days a week and they vary in length depending on the semester. I think the first semester is 5.5 hours a day, for 11 hours a week.

..Make that 6.5 hours of clinicals, twice a week.

I will second that! Tri-C is extremely demanding and I had all pre-reqs/co-reqs done going in. I dropped my part-time job down to PRN status and actually for the Fall I am taking a leave from the nursing program so I can spend more time with my kids. I rarely saw them last semester only taking 10 credit hours...two classes but 4 days a week away from them which nearly killed me and them alike. It is impossible without a ton of help to do this program with young children...not to mention you miss a lot of their lives. My youngest will be in kindergarten next fall and that is when I plan to return to the program....he is my last and I want to spend my time with him and not in lecture lab and clinical.

I can't imagine how you would do it working full time unless you are okay with absolutely no sleep and no life. Best of luck to you...and welcome to tri-c.

Thanks everyone for such quick responses!! It looks like I may have to drop down to part time when I start nursing classes. Not to mention I have a little one who is only 15 months old. She will be 21 months when I start the program. I have heard from a few people at my job that the program is very demanding, but I'm determined to do whatever it takes to succeed in the nursing program!
