Travelling Nurse in Japan ????

There are no travel programs for American nurses in Japan.

You need to speak and write Japanese fluently to get a license to practice there, which hinders most from going.

They are required to meet English standards for licensure here.

Plus you would need to write their nursing boards in Japanese.

So how can anyone who is interested to work in Japan as a nurse get an oppourtunity there ?

Is there any way ....nurse can send time and work ?

Unless you speak and write Japanese fluently..............you still have to write their boards to practice. I know of several Japanese nurses who attended nursing school in Thailand and they were unable to sit for the boards in Japan.

The same way that they need to write US Boards to work in our country, you would be required to do the same over there.

What about the active duty military hospitals? They do hire civilian American nurses. Yokota AB is the biggest base in Japan. Go through the department of defense website.

your welcome...i hope they're helpful!

yes, to work in a us military base hospital overseas, you must carry a us nursing license (i checked with my state BON on that, too). i don't know the answer to the housing question, but most of those websites detail the benefits available in terms of insurance, etc.

i also don't know if you have to sign a contract; you might have to check with the specific hiring entities for that information. a lot of the positions i've seen are for a specific duration (24 months, etc.), but i don't know if that means a contract must be signed.

Most would require US citizenship first of all. You would be working on a base, taking care of US soldiers...............

This is completely different than travel nursing.........all of the perks that go with being a travel nurse would not apply here.

Not necessarily. There are some positions available to spouses of soldiers assigned there, etc.

You dont have to join the US Army .

You can work for them as Civilian Employee if you have Green card or citizenship of USA .
