Traveling to AZ

Hello all. I am being submitted for a position in AZ. I was reading some old posts from JAN of this year. It talked about no work and being cancelled a lot. Any AZ people out there. how are things?

I am also looking for positions in Phoenix, AZ. I have found that the Banner Hospitals are hiring travelers but can't tell you which are good. Are you going with a particular agency and if so I would love to know who and if you have been satisfied with them.

Good Luck

I thought travelers were guaranteed their hours and therefore their pay....I don't know much about the job but would like to learn more...

Specializes in ICU.

Stay away from Banner Health's travel program. Two close friends were burned by them. Their hours were not guaranteed and after Banner cancelled several shifts or put them on call, Banner then made them pay a housing penalty for not making the required amount of hours. This is why I will not take a contract without guaranteed hours. If they send you a contract that is not what they promised, send it back and tell the company to get it right

As far as working at a Banner hospital, I would recommend it any day as a staff nurse or traveler. I was a staff nurse for nearly four years and worked at Banner Good Sam, Gateway, and Baywood. All of the ICUs I worked in were traveler friendly. Plus Phoenix area is perfect this time of year! Good luck in your travels. Message me if you would like any other info on the hospitals or things to do in the area.

Specializes in Everything except surgery.

Guaranteed hours in a contract is only as good as the contract the hospital and the agency have signed! Don't be fooled!
