Does anyone know of any travel agencies that employ Nurse techs that are RN-BSN students?

In what? You have to be independent and competent to travel. Nursing students aren't independent. Experience is required

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho, ASC.

By nurse tech, do you mean CNA?

Student nurses traditionally are employed as such while they wait to take NCLEX or wait for results. There is no reason for a travel agency to hire student nurses. As the PP said, you must function independently as a nurse, which obviously is not the case as a student.

I have no idea if there are agencies for CNA's.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Agencies hire experienced licensed professionals. As a "level 2" student you are neither experienced nor licensed. One must be able to walk into a facility with minimal orientation and go straight to work. There are very few travel opportunities for CNAs & LPNs due to scope of practice issued.

Looking for a summer job? Sure, there are travel NAs. Or you can just pick a city and work for a local agency.

Mentioning that I'm a Nursing Student was simply a small introduction of what I am. A lot of hospitals hiring techs prefer to hear that you are in a nursing program. Not a hint at my credential or experience. I've been a Nurse Tech for for years. I do know that travel agencies hire NURSE TECHS, but I'm not sure which. I came on here to see if anyone had any input or viable advice. But clearly, the tradition on here is to instantly put down or discourage any plan of action that does not involve slaving on a unit for a 100 plus years. Thank you for your input and wise words. Duly noted.

Yea it's for summer! I actually found one last night around 4 am but I need to call them and find the area where techs apply. And thank you for the agency advice, I live in Louisiana so the picking may be slim but I will research those as soon as possible!

Specializes in 15 years in ICU, 22 years in PACU.

Quit being so crabby. You don't have enough experience as a nurse for that.

Awwww! Wayne! I have too learned that allnurses can be brutal. There are companies that hire travel cna's. I think you just gotta find a good recruiter that understands your situation and they can find you something! All the cna's I've worked with that are rn students have been awesome! I've worked at places that prefer to hire cna/rn students. Usually when they graduate they transfer to rn role because they like to hire from within. Just gotta find something thats a good fit!

Lol maverick. He's been a cna for 4 yrs. He's paid his dues. Crabby patty all day everyday!
