Just took "transitions" Got a "B". I couldn't expect much better. I only gave myself two weeks from the last exam I took and I got a nasty case of bronchitis that's kicking my a** but I didn't want to reschedule it. I took some sample tests on Health Differences and scored real well so I think I might tackle that one as early as next week if I can get a little study time in, otherwise it will be a couple weeks. I think I'm addicted to these exams, I can't wait to take another one!

Congrats on your success! What exams do you have remaining?
Remember to give yourself enough time, a non-passing grade can quickly demotivate a person.
I've only taken Health Safety and now Transitions, still a long way to go but lookng forward to it.

Good job! I agree with being addicted. When I first enrolled, I had planned on going for one exam per month... last month I did three LOL... my last nursing exam is next week and I started in January.
Good luck on HD, I didn't have to take that one so I don't have any pointers for you. You'll be done before you know it. :-)

It's funny you mentioned that. My original plan was one a month also. I guess I never really gave myself enough credit for the knowledge I have gained in the many years I have been a LPN. I need to start using the practice exams the way they were intended. Instead I have been getting them and doing them two days in a row and then taking the actual exam. If I actually were to take part "a" BEFORE I studied I would know where to focus my energy. Maybe with this next one. :)

That's what I think too, we don't give ourselves enough credit for being LPNs because of all the flack we get for our too-limited license. I asked one of my coworkers if she stop treating me like a moron when I graduate... and she said YES because I will actually be a "real" nurse.
That is how I do the practice exams. I take form A totally cold and that gives me a good idea of where to plant my focus and of what topics I should zoom in on more closely. I find the rationales on the practice test so helpful, I actually make note cards from them. I used to take form B the day before the exam but my advisor recommended doing it two days before so I can tie it all together... smart lady.. my grades have been better since :-)
Good luck on your next exam!!! You are smarter than you think! :-)

I told him and said, "O hell you already do most of that and I could have my RN show you how to do IV pushes." It's nice to see some doctors feel LPN's are real nurses already.

I've been fortunate in my career to only run into one RN that treated me badly, we were both agency nurses in a hospital but I had been going there for over a year before this RN showed up. She was very quickly put in her place by the other RNs that had worked with me and knew what kind of "nurse" I was. She then apologized and said because she was never a LPN and she was from a different state she didn't know the scope of my license. When some people do that it just shows their level of immaturity and INSECURITY. Somehow they forget we are all a part of a team. Most of us on this forum have been near the bottom of the food chain so we will NEVER treat someone like that, RIGHT???
Agreed.
