  1. Not sure why all of the original post did not show up...but anyways...I am applying to endorse to florida from ohio...I read they require you to have two years of practice before they will grant you a license...I am a new RN (10 months) but have practiced as a LPN for over 8 yrs. Do they considering all the years combined or do i need to have two years of RN practice under my belt.
  2. Hoping someone can answer this question for me...I have applied for my RN license to be endorsed to Florida from Ohio.(still waiting to hear from th
  3. Not mentally checked out as you say...Worked ER as a LPN at a small rural hospital and that is what I long for again..just thought i would give floor nursing a shot..probably picked the wrong floor..been there for about 7 months a total of 3 or 4 IV sticks,,did have a lady with a wound vac but we dont manage those (only in a emergency) they have a wound care team/dept that takes care of all wounds on the floor minus some small dressing changes...I had a coworker that did have a order to hang blood and I witnessed this procedure but she said after being there for two years herself that is only the second or third one she had to do...so typically for our 12 shifts we usually do med passes, bathroom trips (because we are total care facility..No techs/pca's) and ted hose in the morning...if people are satisfied with this environment fine..but its just not for me.
  4. I have been working on rehab floor since graduating in May of 2015 with my Associates, prior to obtaining my degree I was a LPN for 8 yrs...I feel like I am not gaining any new skills I went to school for besides taking (myrtle and frank) to the bathroom every 15 minutes and putting on there TED Hose...I will be able to switch units in a month and can no wait to move on so can get some hands on skills...Kudos to the nurses who work with these patients for years on end..But it is just not for me.
  5. Hey all you Cardiac nurses..Or anyone who may be able to answer this..when evaluating troponin lab levels what is considered an significant increase (greater than 10) in the lab draws..In other words if a patient has a first level of 0.061 and in 6 hours it is 0.072 is that an increase greater than 10 or do the mean literally add 10 which if you added it 0.061 it would then be 10.061....not sure how high these levels can actually go.
  6. IM with ya...just got registered yesterday....Good Luck
  7. I have really come to not like this job at all..because of the total care...especially after a family member got Irate that someone did not come right away when mom had to use the bathroom, because I was giving a shower to the patient next door who could not be left alone, and my team member was up to her ears in a dressing change with the help of another nurse..so needless to say..Mom wet the bed...I know these things will still happen with the help of STNA's/PCA but c'mon now..dont blame me when the survey scores go down...which they have done tremendously in this facilty since going to total care..and who gets blamed...the Nurses of course!!!
  8. So I have been a nurse since I started as a LPN and have recently received my ADN...I got a job in hospital on a busy med/surge floor...and quickly realized how valuable STNA's are...it seems most hospitals are doing away with them and going to total care by the nurses...I know cost wise is a big reason...but what about patient care and employee satisfaction...its very stressful and leaves for rushed care when the RN has to do absolutely everything..especially when you may have 7 patients to care for....just wondering if any other Nurses feel this way?
  9. I have a expunged felony and obtained my LPN (2008) and RN (2015) License without question from the OHIO BON..just submitted all my court documents as requested and got my ATT along with the rest of my class mates both times...never had to explain anything to the boards and also never questioned when it came to clinical placement. Good Luck and dont give up.
  10. Meeee toooo!! Congrats
  11. Im in the same boat...tested June 12 2015 Nclex-RN all 265 questions..alot of SATA, drag and drop and strips...did the PVT got the good pop up 24hs later..so holding on to hope its correct...quick results should be up tomm..if they post on sunday! Good luck to you.
  12. Just received my ATT to sit for boards..so excited but nervous..scheduled for June 12th
  13. Good luck to you...I have an Expunged Felony from 20yrs ago and took my NCLEX-LPN in 2008 and just received my ATT for my NCLEX-RN with no problems.
  14. Hey guys......just sent in my RN Nclex application..I have a expunged felony theft charge from 1992..had no issues obtaining my LPN License but still nervous about waiting to get my ATT for my RN. I know they review everything on a case by case basis and since I am already an LPN (since 2008) I sure hope they do NOT deny me an opportunity to sit for the RN boards. Just asking for encouragement and prayers for good outcome.
  15. I have sent in my application for my NCLEX...how long do I have to wait to register with good ole pearson vue? Does the BON send me something or do I just get on and register online anytime..little confused with this. Someone is coming to talk to our class in a couple weeks but I dont want to wait until then getting everything sent in now background check already complete also.
