transgender nurse (transvestite)

Published

I am a Practical Nursing Instructor. I have had a transgender accepted into my program. He/she is a cross dresser, presents as a female but has male sex organs. I had no control over this person getting in based on numbers only. What are your thoughts on this issue? Should we allow a nurse to take care of the patients who misrepresents their sex? I feel that it is wrong. Nursing is much too personal at times.

I had clinicals in a hospital where a transexual (male to female) pharmacist was employed. The fact that she was transexual was not the problem. The problem was that her manner of dress and grooming was inappropriate.

She wore 1.5 inch long fake fingernails with scenes painted on them, a very excessive amount of make up, and worst of all, a large metal S&M/master/slave or bondage type of steel band neck collar with a large pad lock on it.

Totally inappropriate.

Gender is a lot more than chromosomes. And gender is not the same as sex. It's how your body functions and there are more than two ways. Gender is what's between your ears, it's your mind and how you feel. And there are also more than two examples.

I'm curious how to feel about intersexuality. PLEASE, before you answer, research what intersexuality is. Tell me how you feel about a person born with any number of mosaic chromosomes. Do you even know what that means?

Unfortunately, for you, buddy, life isn't.

People, don't throw around terms you know nothing about. I've seen homosexuality and transvestism mentioned twenty times. This has absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality or being a trasnvestite. In order to properly discuss such things you must first know what you're talking about!

Maybe you could enlighten us "ignorant" folk on your infinate knowledge of the subject.

Well...

I do actually have a lot of knowledge in the area. It's both personal and academic.

However, there's little or no point in going into it any further because, obviously, there is nearly 40 pages of opinions already set by folks who don't even know what they're talking about.

I suggest people do some real life (not just internet) research and look, learn, and listen, about being transgendered. It will not only open your eyes to this one particular case, it will help you deal with people and see past their gender.

Being modded - when you're modding a post, might I humbly suggest to keep it intact as far as grammar and logic? lol.

I smell a TROLL........bwahahahaha.....

1. I am a simple ole country boy, and strictly hetero

2. I have no idea what intersexuality is, nor does it interest me enough to research it. Whatever it is, it isnt me.

3. Never heard of Mosaic chromosomes either, guess Ive lived a sheltered life, Thank God

4. Last I heard from a strictly legal standpoint, whther someone is M or F is based on his chromosomes.

Thank God Im a Country Boy
