What type of school did you attend/are you attending? Is it a trade school, adult education program, community college, state university, high school based program, private (for profit) college, or some other institution I haven't mentioned? How did/are you liking it?

I attended Casa Loma College back in '04 and '05. It was a private trade school with a hefty tuition. While I felt a few things were left to be desired, the program helped me achieve my goals of licensure and working as an LVN.

I attend a community college. My A&P I and II, micro, math, and all humanities transferred. All of my courses will transfer now (like my pharmacology) to the RN program that I plan to start next year. I have class Tues, Thurs, and Fri 9a until 2p, with Wed 2nd shift clinical, and Monday off. Some of my classmates who have to take anatomy or other humanities courses have more classes, so longer hours. Most, though, took their pre-req-type courses before the program started.

I checked out most of the LPN schools at the time of my application. I was appalled that some of the trade/private schools wouldn't accept my courses (even with As) unless I tested out. I heard that the test-out process was almost impossible to pass, so I didn't even try. Not even that, NONE of my courses would transfer!!! At $14,000 (one school) for the year! What a business!!!

lvnhopeful, what adult school in California are you attending

I also attend Hondros. I am at the Columbus location. I started Jan 12th. I like it so far.

Cecilia, I went to Visalia Adult school. There is also Hanford, and Tulare schools, who teach nursing. The Visalia Adult school is located on Houston off of Lovers Lane.

Hi, the written??? When are you looking to start the program?? I start March 16 for the full time day, so so psyched!!!! Lots of peops apply!!! Where do you live?? What do you do now???

Yes I'm taking the written exam at the Rockland BOCES, I am looking to start the full time day program in the fall. Right now I'm just taking some college courses for when I bridge to RN. You definately have to let me know how things go when you start, so soon!

Wow, I am going to a Vo-Tech in Massachusetts. We have to pay 8,000.00 plus another 1,500.00 in "other" fees. I can't believe people are paying 3,000.00. I live in the wrong state. LOL

I'll be going 10 months 4 nights a week from 5-10 and every other weekend. I do like the Vo-Tech a bit better, for the LPN program.

Good Luck!

Hi, you dont want to be in NY, I am paying $15,499 thats without books, uniforms, etc

I wonder how they determine what to charge?? should be a standard fee???
