Touro College Nursing Program

Published

Hello,

My name is Stephanie and I was recently accepted into the nursing program at Touro college in Brooklyn, NY. I will be going in as a transfer student since I have a degree in Biology. The reason why I'm here is because I wanted to know if anyone had any information on the program. I have done a lot research, but the program itself is still pretty new and I wanted to know a little bit more about the program at this school and about other people's experiences. Thank you.

Omg ! I'm so excited for you ! I just sent everything last week. How long did you wait for the letter ?

I applied in January, and just received the acceptance.

Good for you ! And seems no other people applying for 2016 semesters are here besides us.

Yeah I wonder how many people applied to the program because there are only 35 seats.

But has 50 seat for the RN/ BSN and 50 for the BSN. I heard is around 200 people applying every semester. But not sure how it's the selection, did you have a good GPA for the prerequisites ?

Probably around 3.4 3.5, I have an associates degree and I work as a PCA in a hospital now,and I got good letters of recommendation. This had to wrk in my favor beause my Nln score was only a 103.

That looks really good, I'm sure that helped a ton. You will be a great Nurse, I just have the prerequisites GPA 3.3 and Nln 107, but had good letters as well. But not sure about it. let's see. I prob won't find out til April. But I'm applying to other schools. Taking the Teas in few weeks.

Aww thanks. The excitement is wearing off a little now I'm getting nervous lol. I took the Teas for another school but didn't get in that one. I hope you get in. I applied several times to different schools and didn't get in, this is the first program that accepted me.

I just paid my deposit this week for the Fall semester!

That sounds Great, are you applying to the dual program ? I'm still waiting on a answer sense I applied a not too long ago. Seems they take around a month in half to send an letter. What was your GPA and NLN ? I'm on the lower side a little scared that I don't make it.

Yeah, the dual program. I already have a bachelor's degree. I applied in October and didn't hear back until February. NLN = 127, GPA = 3.1 overall

That it's great. Well, I will wait and hope for the best, but still have to hear back from a couple other schools.
