Hello All!
I wanted to start a new thread for the Torrance Memorial Medical Center New Grad RN Versant Program that is to begin in February of 2014. Good luck to all who applied! Lets keep each other posted if we hear anything.
To the people that had a second interview, what was the vibe you got? My interview was 10-15 mins tips and did most of the talking. Also, I spoke to a really nice young lady that wished me luck as she was coming out. I'd love to know who you are. That was very nice of you. My email is [email protected].
Thanks guys. I chose critical care as my top choice. Since that is a key difference among us, it seems reasonable that my top choice played a role in a "lack" of a second interview. Did anyone else choose critical care as their top choice? If so, did you get invited to a second interview?
Honestly, I'm not sure. I felt really good, but then I forgot my resume and they asked for it right off the bat. First strike! LOL I think my interview was about 20 minutes long and a few times, they asked me questions that were not on their paper. Like, they followed up on my answer about my weakness by asking me about my best mistake. I think it was also not on the paper but they told me candidates want TMMC because of what it can give, like magnet status, benefits, good reputation. What can I contribute to TMMC? I got a few not-on-the list questions so I hope that's a good sign!! But I noticed that they're not always writing what I'm saying. What does that mean??? LOL
I'd really like to work for Torrance and I hope I get a call by the end of this week but I'm gonna do my darnest to not stress. I was already in vacation mode when they called me on Monday. Haha. What about you, mom2doubles, how'd you feel about it?
I know exactly what you mean! They also asked me for a copy of my resume which I also didn't have. In my defense though I let them know that I had asked the person that called to schedule me if I needed to bring anything and was told no. My questions were pretty much easier than the first one and I had even got a question that the recruiter had asked me. What did you say your weakness was? I told them that even though my coach and CI were confident in my knowledge and abilities that I wasn't always and that I'm a hands on learner and just need to get in there and do my thing. Kinda hard to read though. I am hoping to hear soon also. Any idea how many people got a second interview or a timeline on there decision? I'm thinking it will be made before January.

I don't think anyone expected a second interview. I didn't. I just got a call Monday afternoon asking for a time for the following day. I indicated med/surg as my first choice, then tele. I think my friend indicated ED, then med/surg during the first interview. I heard that they could be calling up people as early as yesterday, but I haven't heard from them yet.
