hi there,
I am in Virginia, although we are not a "quick results" state, VA has a website and an automated phone line we can call.
I called this morning thinking it would be impossible to get an answer. But sure enough, the computer spit my name out saying I was a current-active license that was expiring in 2007!!
Good luck to you and keep trying to find out, who knows you might just get an answer sooner than later.
Would someone clarify something for me? When I took boards, pencil and paper for two full days, there were several hundred questions and you were expected to attempt to answer all of them. I read posts indicating that some people answered 75 questions, some 85. How does this work? Thanks!
And I found out this morning that I PASSED!!!:wink2:I got 75 questions, and I almost passed out when the computer turned off.
Everyone seemed on the money about the general content.
I used Saunders for comprehension of nursing content and the NCSBN Learning Extension for their really tough questions--questions that seemed to be most similar to the actual test.
Good luck everyone!
Now I can say I am an RN!!
Can you tell me a good online NCLEX coching center?

Yes, us "old-timers" did the pencil and paper exam with 1000 questions and over two days. We were tested on everything. And each state had their own exam.
The NCLEX exam is actually a national exam and is computerized. The RN exam, there can be anywhere from 75 to 265 questions, number will depend on the tester, as well as the computer. They are no longer tested on all of the patho-physiology, etc., but it is more to see if they can begin their practice as a safe nurse. Teaching nowadays is very different from when we went to school, most of their clinical learning will actually begin when they begin their first job and are in a full orientation.
