So I found out today that 4 hrs and 265 questions later, I did not pass the NCLEX the first time around. I am very frustrated and down on myself about it. I was an B student all through school, took and followed the Kaplan review course, and still didn't pass. Here is my dilemma: I was called for a job interview a few days before took NCLEX. It is with a hospital I would LOVE to work at! It did put a little added pressure on me to pass but I am excited about it. Now that I haven't, I feel obligated to call the manager back and let her know so she can back out of the interview if she feels necessary. My interview is not until Thursday so I am asking input on whether I should call and let her make the decision for on whether it is worth her time, or show up Thursday and discuss it with her then.
Thanks so much for the advice.

Hmmm... did she know you were taking NCLEX at that time? I would say if she didn't don't call her. Reschedule your NCLEX; your wait time is 45-90 days depending what state your in. If she did know I think you still should go to the interview, if they are still wanting to hire you, you will be worth the wait.
They can always hold on to your application and instead of being thrown back in a pile they can at least meet you face to face and if you rock the interview you could still get a position there.
Good Luck on whatever you do.
Take 2 or 3 days off studing, longer if you need it. Then jump back into studying again. I failed NCLEX on June 10 also... 265 question and 4 1/2 hours!! It is rough, I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can tackle the NCLEX!! Re-group and go get what you deserve!

What state are you in? In some states, you can not work as a graduate nurse if you have failed the NCLEX. For example, in NY, you have to apply for a permit to work if you have not taken the NCLEX yet. The permit expires 1 year after it was issued OR 10 days after notification of failing the NCLEX, which ever comes first. You may not be able to work until you retake and pass the NCLEX depending on your state BON.
This does not mean you can't interview, though. I have friends that have had to wait 6 plus weeks to start a job because orientation classes were full, waiting on physicals, etc. I feel for your situation. Best of luck to you!

Sorry to hear this. Just pick yourself up and get ready to try again. You will pass as long as you don't give up.
