Took the NCLEX three times

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the test three times. my last test date was July 2. i got alot of SATA and 265q. My candidate report showed near passing on most areas except Reduction of Risk Potential. I got above passing on Health Promotion and Maintenance. Any advice?

What have you been doing to prepare as well as how have you been using it?

Each time that you prepare, it should be for an exam as if you have never tested before. The exam will be completely different, so always best to start from the beginning.

It is easier for me or others to help you if we know what you did to prepare in the past.

if you find out about this can you please reply back to me also. im also in the same boat with near passing for mine results with answering 265 q's. thanks!

I have taken the exam 2X and the frist time I was near passing in all areas and above passing in psychosocial Integrity,The second time I tested near passing in most areas and above passing in Safety and Infection control, below passing in health promotion and Maintenance (Stunned). Suzzane, is correct when she says you must study for your next exam as if you have not taken the exam. Because each time your getting a completely different test and the material you may have focused on for the previous exam may not appear on the next. I used Suzzane's first tip for my second exam, but I did not complete the full program. For my third try I will complete the full program. I have no more time for Nclex, I need to make some cash quick. This text is taking a toll on my physical and mental health. I graduated from nursing school with honors, but now I feel like a member of the dum-dum society.

i totally know how you feel. its just hard to accept bcause you go through school and graduate and just this one test makes you feel soooo overwhelmed!! i def. am goin to do suzannes program cuz i need to pass and start working as a nurse. so i know how you feel...just dont give up. your not the only one in this situation. keep your head up and just believe in yourself, it def. makes a difference!

hang in there.... I felt discouraged after reading that I was nearly passing in everything and failed 'basic comfort and care' ???? Suzanne's program has been really helpful You should give it a try.

in the past I've been reviewing each chapter in the 3rd Saunders book, took Kaplan course, reviewing the Flashcards I bought from a website, answering questions from the Kaplan test takers, doing qbank and scoring fairly well. I don't know nothing more that I can do. Everyday I make sure I answer 100 questions and writing down my rationales to the ones I missed. But when I'm in front of the test I just panic. I know I know the information b/c if it was an oral test. I would pass it in a heartbeat. this time I need some serious help. I was told that Suzanne your plan works.

gradnurse2,I also used Saunder's, but I purchased the 4th Ed. and pretty much covered every chapter before taking the exam a 2nd time.I also purchased those crazy flash cards from some web-site, completed a great deal of questions from Kaplan, Saunder's and the NCSBN program. The first time I tested I did fewer questions. The second time I tested I did more question, but not has many as some people have done. I think I completed around 2500 questions. In retrospect that is alot of question, but some are doing 3,000 to 4,000 questions. I think I'll try to work more on delegation and prioritization questions for the third try.Suzzane's says each time you test you should review Saunder's again and that's what I'm doing now. This time I'll focus on meds, last time I skimmed over the med chapters( Big Mistake).

gradnurse2,Have you started reviewing Saunder's again? Do you feel like you need to review more content?Sometimes I feel like I'm spinning my wheels by going over and over content when there is no way I'll remember everything anyway.

Hang in there, that's all we can do. We will make it. I test this week on friday the 8th and I am....I don't even have a word for it. I too have taken the test 2x and I graduated with honors as well. I've learned that means nothing when it comes to NCLEX. I always prepared as if I knew nothing but seeing fellow grads who didn't get into Sigma Theta Tau pass the NCLEX on their first try as I'm still struggling was a rude awakening. Good luck 2 us :specs:

Brwnsuga83,Thanks for the encouragement. I will have you in my prayers August 8, I know that you will succeed this time.I am planning to re-test the second or third week in September. Did you use Suzzane's plan this time to prepare?

I wish you guys well. I too am using Saunders 3rd edition. I am doing all the questions in the cd. I was told that a good book for priority questions is The one by author Linda Lacharity its titled : Priority, delegation and assignment.

Good Luck to us.
