Hello everyone
I took my nclex RN exam yesterday and it cut off at 84 ..
I had 10 sata,Only 1 calculation and 5-7 med questions lot of med surg,priority questions,1 or 2 delegation, 2 ecg ,1 picture question..
I have been browsing this site to find anybody who got 84 questions and passed..feeling really down:cry:
It was my retake I've failed it once and last time my test shut off at 75 so that means I failed miserably..This time when MY TEST didn't stop at 75 and I got #76 I was like Okay may be I am not doing that bad I still have a chance I got myself together and pay extra attention to the questions and I hit 80 then 81..82..83..and it stopped at 84 I was like please give me few more..:/ so I just got 9 more questions from minimum 75 ...I know its silly to talk about number of questions but I can't stop thinking about it .What are my chances here..any Ideas..? If I FAILED WAS I CLOSE TO PASSING ?or CAN i pass with only 9 more questions ?
P.s I haven't tried PVT trick yet coz I am not in a good situation to handle that cc page shot I have no courage to do it I am preparing myself for the worse...
Okay So I did the PVT Today and according to the trick I FAILED.
Sorry to hear that. It's really saddening to see that CC page! Still can remember when I first saw it last 2010 (silently wishing that PVT isn't true! LOL but hey it is!) Hoping to get the good pop up this time though! :)
Anyway, you can always retake it. Don't give up! :) But why is it that there are still more SATA's even if you failed? All the while, I thought if you were given tons of sata you can actually pass. Just wondering...
I am not gonna give up.May be I wasn't fully ready but I'll study hard and retake in 45 days :]
How are you studying this time ? any tips?

I'm refreshing my content first using Saunders, then once I'm done with 1 system, including the related meds, I will answer chapter reviews from the book, exam mode questions (at least 100 items) from Saunders CD, then the corresponding system also in LaCharity PDA, with all the Rationales.
Right now, I'm almost finished with that. Then, I'll proceed with re-reading part 1 of Kaplan strategies (since I already read it last dec 2011) then proceed with the Exam Cram, 3500, 4000. I'm also planning to get NCSBN 3 weeks before my test date which is on Mar 9. And I hope I make it this time. :)
How bout you? What are your plans now?
That sounds like a Good Plan. You will do great:)
I am going to do saunders again I didn't finish it completely it was boring and made me sleepy but I think I need to do it chapter to chapter with questions and I will stick to nclex 4000/3500 not done with that either. Exam cram with cd ,La charity PDA,KAPLAN purple book (Rn course book),Kaplan blue strategy book and I got NCSBN 3 week review so I'll finish that.
I need to work on my content coz I learned cramming doesn't work on this test..I'll start studying from tomorrow.
GOOD LUCK TO US
Hey FaithfulGod,
I took the exam on Jan 30th. I got all 265 questions and it took me 5 hours to complete but I passed (Thank God!) Oh, and the PVUE trick worked for me as wel!!
I did the Kaplan review. I did all of the question in the Q bank (there are about 1200) and I also did the Question Trainer exams 1-7.
I felt Kaplan did a good job in preparing me how to answer questions. I would write down the questions i missed and what the correct answer was so I understood why I missed it. If there was a procedure/drug/term I didn't know, I looked it up! I've heard HURST review is also good. My friend did HURST. I only focused on Kaplan and I didn't even use their book. They also have videos on website that you have access to. Those are pretty helpful too but I didn't get around to watching many of those (just 1 1/2). The only thing I did use the Kaplan book for what the LAB value (which I hardly got on the NCLEX).
Good luck!!! Hope the advice helped! :)
