Took NCLEX-RN Today (75 questions)

Published

Well I had my exam today and shut off at 75 exactly. My last question was a SATA. LOL. I had about 30 SATA though. It was brutal but not near as bad as I expected. My anxiety made the experience worse than anything. Some questions were very easy IMO, others not so much.

My only gripe was that the info in some questions is vague or lacking. Also, naturally, the questions I got focused on areas I really didn't study. I spend so much time reviewing DM, DM meds, neurotrauma, and certain conditions I felt I were asked a lot during school and in Kaplan. Of course, none of that was on there. I also had no math. Figures.

So now I wait. I think with a minimum of 75 and at least 30 SATAs I should be GTG?? yes?

I did the PVT trick and got the good pop-up! Fingers crossed.

Congrats you passed!!! A good sign was the number os select all apply or alternative format questions which are considered above the line questions. I hope to be an RN next Tuesday when I take mine!

30 Sata?!! Wow! Sounds like you passed. Congrats!!

Thanks! Feeling pretty good about it. Unique 87, just stay positive. I didn't think it was that bad. I only did about 500 Kaplan questions and studied maybe 15 hours during a three month period before testing. I was never a big studier in nursing school but I had a fair amount of medical knowledge before I started. I read books like the Merck Manual and similar for fun. So don't disregard the need to study.

Congrats RN!:yeah:And I must say, that's a lot of SATA in 75 item question! You must be answering so correctly!

Does a lot of SATA questions mean a postive sign? I had a Lot of SATA questions, almost every 2nd question!

got good pop up but still worried!

:-(

Congratulations WOW 30 SATA QUESTIONS :saint: was it any system in particular, ENDO...???

Thanks again! I checked this morning about 25 minutes ago and the BON says I passed!! AZ is quick! No license number yet. I think they have to open and process the results.

So exciting even though I knew I passed. Seeing it online confirmed helps, lol.

scotnurse7 - supposedly a lot of SATAs is a good indicator that you're passing. Towards the end of my test I started to get more exhilarated because I had so many. They weren't hard. Funny too, I looked at question 74 and hit submit - question 75 was a SATA, then it shut off! I was getting between 4 and 6 multiple choice questions in a row then it would jump into 3 to 5 SATA in a row. Back and forth the whole time. It was crazy.

diana2520 - Most of the SATA questions were neuro and psych. I did have some peds and other random SATAs though. My test was all over the place. The only areas I didn't get much if any testing on were Endo (2), math (0), Cardio (3?), Resp (5?), and Derm (3?). Of course I had a fair amount of priority questions that dealt with OB, Peds, and a variety of med-surg issues, but nothing too bad. Pharm I had maybe 8? I don't know. I'm guessing at the numbers but some subjects were never even asked about and I was surprised.

I would say overall, most questions were OB, peds, neuro, psych, pharm, and priority (not delegation). Less were endo, derm, and other subjects.
