Took NCLEX July 2nd...worse feeling!

Published

Took NCLEX today, and have the worse feeling at the pit of my stomach!

The exam dragged me through the rain, at 265 questions. I wished it would have stopped at 75...but it kept going...on and on!

The worse of it is I only had 11 SATA's, 5 math, 20 meds, tons of infection control, teaching, and the most was priority for assessment, implement and evaluation. It was the worse, because even with the stuff I studied, the questions were geared to something different than what I studied on kaplan. It was weird, seemed like I would have learned more from Saunders than Kaplan. I used both resources.

What level is delegation and priority? Are SATA's supposed to move you towards a level of difficulty? I only had 11 and I thought I should have had more...but didn't. :(

I am in Cali and don't expect results for at least a couple of weeks, in fact, I don't even expect my name on the board, and I am not just saying it, I am feeling it. :scrying:

Meds were names that I never heard of, not even close to a clue. I just had to guess on the adverse effects. It asked about prioritizing teaching for certain side effects, and psych questions, too.

I even got newborn, psych, incident reports, they were just content questions. Aren't those supposed to be too basic?

What are the level of difficulty? I got difficult math calculations, too...I hated them.

I can almost guarantee I failed, and I hate putting the negative energy out there. I have been positive until I walked in the room!

Sat and wrote the exam....I studied all areas, but the type of questions written were not similar to what I reviewed, so there were different options than what to review on Kaplan or saunders!!??:angryfire

Frustrating, the:angryfire worse feeling.

Can't even remember what I saw, to even look back in the book to find my answer. :stone......I feel :bluecry1::o:no::banghead:all in one! and will be for the next month. I am going to send my app to re-apply, by then it will process for a retake in 45 days!

Good luck to you all taking it this week!

What a holiday to spend it! in anxiety of tears...:sniff::redbeathe

I feel the same way!!! I thought the questions were content based!!!! I'm in Cali let me know how you do! Thanks....

I took the NCLEX today and feel the same way. I had tons of SATA and drugs I had never heard of. I tested for the Indiana Board of Nursing...hope to hear something soon. Good luck to all!

That you got a lot of priority type questions is in your favor. SATA questions are only a format style and do not determine level of question from that alone.

There is absloutely no reason to expect that you needed to have more SATA questions on your exam, there are still some that get only one or two.

Again, you cannot determine level of question by the content questions as you call them. We see so much posted about this, but it is just not correct at all.

You are never going to see questions on the exam that you have seen in a reviewer, just not going to happen. The whole idea of the preparation for this exam is to understand what they are looking for in an answer. And if you understand that, then there is no reason to assume that you will not get thru the exam.

All that write the exam get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. It is the level that you are getting the majority of your correct answers at that will determine if you pass or not, this makes it the easiest to understand.

Please do not eat yourself up while waiting for your results. There is nothing to do to try and second guess how you did or should say that the exam has determined what you have done.

Best of luck to you on your results, and you most definitely need to take some time for yourself this week just to clear your head, if nothing else.

Please keep up posted.

Jazzysmika!

I can imagine how you feel... We've been encouraging each other in another thread (Few random facts...) and I can tell that you studied hard for the test! You may be surprised on how well you did on the test even if you got 265 questions! Keep your head up and don't be discouraged. I am crossing my fingers for you.

Best wishes!

Jazzysmika,

I think you should feel good that you got a lot of priority!! Don't second guess yourself, if you think of a question don't go looking up the answer, you'll drive yourself crazy. Go take some time for yourself, you need it. Please keep us updated on how you did. I will be sending many positive vibes your way!!!

goodluck with your result.

Jazzy,

Alot of people feel this way about taking the NCLEX at 75-265 questions. It's tough waiting. Think positive thoughts!

jazzy~

i agree with everyone else here, i think the majority of the nclex test takers feel this way afterwards, i know i did too! but you had a lot of what seems like higher level of difficulty questions. i will keep you in my thoughts...jack5801 is right, there have been some of us who are always on that random facts thread pretty often (daily for me) who encourage each other for the dreaded exam. i am sure you did very well. remember, many people pass at 265....so keep your head up!

and don't send in your app to the bon just yet...give yourself a break and have some fun. take some time off and relax...i know its easier than done, but try anyway. let us know when you find out you passed!

take care girl! :)

felt the same way :redbeathe..i took mine last june 27th and just waiting for the results. actually i took both the PN and RN exams. the reason?? just to get into nursing and practice. i just got my PN results a few days ago and thank God i passed . im still hoping and praying that i passed my RN and yours too..

dont feel doomed on how u answered your question..just be optimistic! and keep in mind u did your best.:yeah::p

Thanks everyone for the support. I get excited every day to find so many of you guys get your results, faster than it seems, and pass with flying colors! :redpinkhe

So I continue to stay positive. The worse, is to re-take it again. The questions were difficult to where you start to doubt yourself...and realistically, you already know the content. I found myself doing that too much. I just want to know why it went all the way to 265, but I know this exam varies. It really does. ;)

Good luck everyone, we will keep each other posted!!!!

Thanks again, for the great feedback. So uplifting:clown:
