i just took my nclex 2day. i stopped @ 85. I rilly studied for this test but when i got in the testing center i couldnt remember anything that i've studied. :( totally i had some easy questions that can't even answer it. I had 8-10 meds. no calculation. some of the hard ones can't even remember what are those. I heard that if u keep getting easy questions that means your not getting it right. they said that in testing center theyll give u hint if you passed or not. what are those hints. i didn't get it. my gosh i don't know what will i say or do when i'm out with my friends and family. i don't even want to go out in my room. answer my fon. :chair: :chair: :chair: :chair: ahhhhhhh i'm getting sick. i couldn't thnk straight.... my gosh i'm rilly worried. i just drunk some wine to fall sleep. oh by the way i'm from california so i have to wait for couple weeks to get my result.

Good luck! I hope you pass!
I, too, had to take my NCLEX-PN for California and endured the agonizing wait for my results. Overall, I waited 12 days to discover through the snail mail that I had passed.

Not true...and, I am not saying this to place fear in the original poster's head, but it can go either way. By the time the machine shut down at 85, it has determined by the minimum if the candidate has passed or failed and had no reason to go any further. If it went above 85, it couldn't make a determination yet, however, it saw that the person had possibly answered more questions correct, but didn't cross that line of determining if the person can be deemed to be a 'safe practitioner'.
They don't give hints whether you passed or not because the proctors don't know. They are simply there to monitor that shady behaviors are not being done. In fact, many of them are not involved with nursing at all. My testing center also accomodated students taking Excelsior exams, vetrinary science (I am sure I spelled that wrong) and many other things.
Most people sort of freeze out during NCLEX and they have passed. Most of us remember more than what we think we do. I remember doing alot of breathing exercises before going in, and I made a mental note to myself to act as though these were the same practice questions I was doing all along. I thought them through as much as I was able to. I did get panicky when the questions got harder, but forged on. I completely lost my mind when the machine shut down at 85; because during my practice questions, I was finding that for each 100 that I did, I would get 15 wrong, so, I had this wild theory that if I had 100 questions, I would assume that I would have passed. My brain could not wrap around 85. I did pass, and the original poster probably did as well, but just shutting down at 85 is not a guarentee.
I wish you well and want you to pass. No one wants to repeat such a thing, and we all want to move on and do what we were trained for.
i guess i'll just have to wait. :scrying: :scrying: :scrying: :scrying:

I am currently in school to be a LPN and you guys are scaring me. I dont graduate until March of 08 but I am already scared of the N-Clex. What type of material does it cover. Is it like the PSB or it does it only cover nursing situations. What is the pass/fail percentage for the test? Any insight would be helpful.

Hi Sweetven, I believe you would make it. I took mine on Jan 11 at Tennessee. It shut off at 85. Was so confused because I had a lot of meds I never heard of. I had to wait for almost 10 days to get my results. I was always at the website verifying license. My dear most people who have 85 questions make so just believe it. Its not easy because I also went through the same stress. Sleepless nights etc. I believe you made. Babykay
I know you were just being honest but she could have done without this info. But I know you meant no harm...just giving honest info.
