Too tired to do anything on days off

Is it just me... or is it really hard to do anything on your days off because you are just so mentally and physically exhausted from work?

I am so tired on the days I'm not working that I honestly don't want to do anything but lie on the couch. Being a nurse is so difficult and draining. I know other employed people can be tired, too... but I just feel the nursing career is so different.

Well, there are days I just want to lie on the couch on my days off, but not everyday. I was just talking to 4 nurses on my floor who work out before a 12 hour shift and some work out after a 12 hour shift. I may never be that motivated to ever do that. I recently found out I was severely deficient in B12 and D, I would go and get bloodwork done to see what may be causing such fatigue. And exercise helps with stress and may help you not feel so tired.

This is a symptom of being a nurse working 12 hour shifts. I'm tired on my days off too. Sometimes I push myself to do things and sometimes I don't. I don't beat myself up about though. When I have a stretch off, I'm much more energized.
