Too many science classes?

That is a lot to take in one semester, but if you have a lot of free time on your hands, I would say go for it. On the first day when you get the syllabus, look to see when test dates are, and if there are too many tests on the same day, I would recommend dropping a class or two. Chemistry, Bio2 and Anatomy are going to be your toughest subjects!

No, defiantly not I would not recommend taking any mixture of classes like this together. Please re-evaluate that! Best wishes if you decide to attempt this. You know your strengths. Good luck this semester!!!

Do you have labs for A&P, Bio, and Chem? If all three classes have labs, you might want to consider dropping one of the lab classes. Science classes with labs are really time consuming, but you can always go to class the first few weeks, talk with the professors about your aspirations and concerns.. and drop one of your lab classes if you feel that it might be too much to handle.

I'm in the same boat as you too. I just graduated with a BS in Business from Carnegie Mellon and want to get into an ABSN program as well. I'm trying to finish all my prereqs in 1.5 years so I can hopefully start nursing school with the Spring 2013 cohort. I already took Stats, Bio, and Chem in college so this fall I'll be taking:

1. A&P I w/lab

2. Microbiology w/lab

3. Nutrition

4. Biomedical Ethics

5. Developmental Psychology I

I can definitely say I'm worried about taking A&P and Microbio together...

You ladies are very brave! I thought I was because I'm taking Chemistry w/lab, college algebra!!!

How many hours do you work on the weekends and how many hours will you actually be spending in the classroom? I think it is doable if you are disciplined enough to stay on a schedule :)

I work 6-3 on weekends. After I thought about it today, I think I will keep the 3 science classes. I can always take stats and dev. pys over the winter online. I NEED to take the science classes because they are prereqs to get into other classes. I think it will be rough- but possible.

I didn't see your post when I posted mine earlier. I'll be following to see what other responses you get. I don't have as many sciences as you have but I'm currently registered for a very full load and am wondering if I should keep them all.

Personally I think that you should probably drop the chem....and keep the rest...I took 19 credits last semester while working full time with a part time job as well but I had already taken AP1 and Bio sooo I have the background already. AP1 is reeaaaaallllyy time consuming and chemistry is another language. Also dev psych is not as easy as it sounds and stats is a killer if you're not a pro at math. so although you have lots of time on your hands three sciences w/labs plus stats and dev psych sounds like a horrible idea. You need to retain all the knowledge you will be gaining from these classes. You should take only what you have to. Chem can wait.

I think you can do the Bio, A&P and the Dev psych all together but with the chem and stats? There is Alot of material to learn in those classes and are pretty hard. Are great at math? I think the major point is to do it but with good grades too!
