Hi everybody,

I am an LPN have been searching for a jobs in MA almost a year now. Still no where hired new grad! They said something like. we really appreciate for your enthusiasm, but your qualification is not meet our requirement.

How on earth can New grad find job right now if they really have very little experience?? :-( hmmm

I always hope that after all the hard study during nursing school, it will pay off after i get a job but the truth is ugly than what i think!

hi nurselearningforlife, i just want to encourage you not to give up. keep applying, someone will hire you eventually. i passed my nclex in november 2011 and spent 2 stressful months job hunting. several employers told me that they didn't hire new grads but i finally got a prn job 2 wks ago.

apply, apply, apply - don't depend on online applications. most nursing homes don't advertise job openings online, just walk in and fill out applications.

network, network, network - talk to your former classmates, clinical instructors, or any nurses you know. they are a useful source of information in finding out what places are hiring. i applied at my current job because my friend's mom told her they have prn openings!

the career services department at your school could also give you leads on places that hire new grads. plus they can critique your resume and offer you tips on how to answer interview questions.

try filling applications at the ltc's that you went to for clinicals. a friend of mine got hired at one of our clinical sites:-)

i wish you the very best of luck in your job search. please keep us posted on your progess.
