I go to gwinnett tech in ga. I'm taking my first exam tomorrow at 8 am sharp. Worried out of my mind. I have no clue what to expect. Anyone else want to put their feelings or situations. Major support group appreciated.

I am NOT trying to be a COB here, But honestly, if your first exam is coming up, and you're worried about it- GET OFF allnurses and study.

LOL meanmaryjean. Is that how you came up with your username? Just joking please don't take me seriously. But I agree with you. NeoNatMom I'm sure you will do fine. We all have faith in you!! Relax you got this. If you've been studying, and I'm sure you have. Good Luck! Let us know how you do.

OP how did it go? My first nursing exam is this Friday.

Passed mine with an 88 today!! Was very excited. Now I can relax a little that I understand how the instructors test. Mine was a lot more general than I thought it would be. I think I crammed too much info in my head!!

I study all the time. I deserved the break to get it off my chest to others on AN. I got an 87.5 I didn't think it was hard. I have a pharm test tomorrow. Hope I do just as well. Congrats to all of you you did well! Thanks for the support guys :)

Yeah, sometimes it's good to walk away from the books. Too much studying can be just as bad as not enough. Congrats on the 87. I'm sure you feel relieved!!

I did not do well on my last two exams but you know something, as I'm reading over patient teaching in my fundamentals book, it's literally validating what I was doing in the beginning that was making me successful. I changed how I tackled the material and Idk why bc I was doing just fine before. Word of advice to all still struggling to grasp theoretical knowledge, I highly suggest reading about active involvement and learning environment. It literally describes how we learn best :) for those with the Wilkinson and Treas at fundamentals of nursing textbook it's chapter 24 patient teaching. Hope this helps bc this literally explains why I did well before and why I didn't recently. I chose to try a method that has been proven is less effective in retaining knowledge.
