what is the score required for the speaking section of the TOEFL-iBT?
i checked with the Visascreen handbook, it stated there that total score must be 83 and 26 is needed for the speaking part. however, i've seen previous sites before which i cannot locate anymore, it said there that the total score must be 83 and the speaking part should have 23.. im not so sure what the required score really is.
To those who have applied for licensure at New Jersey and took the TOEFL-iBT, please tell me what is the score needed?
im quite bothered and sad coz i got a total of 96 but got 24 for the speaking part..

Only trust what is written on the Visa Screen Handbook. It is them that gives you the Visa Screen Cert. not those other sites and ICHP/CGFNS regularly update themselves.
Also, did you contact NJ and asked that the English proficiency exam be waived as you did go through a nursing course in PH using English as the medium of instruction and all main books are written in English.
I remember, someone (from PH as well) who replied to one of your previous posts and threads saying that he asked NJ to waive that req't and was granted one and suggested that to you.
I suggest you do the same and just take the IELTS for your visa screen certification, w/c we have always recommended over TOEFL because the speaking part is easier to pass compared to TOEFL.
I really suggest that you at least try and ask that the English exam req't waived for you, citing the reasons I mentioned above. If you will be able to get the English req't waived then you can go directly for CES and just take the IELTS for the visa screen req't.
And if you have visited CGFNS' website recently, they are now asking for an additional $75 on top of the CES fee for an English Language Report be included on the CES report. So, I would really at least try and have it waived.

For what...........? waiver is generally decided by the state
for CES in NJ BON.. i read some of the thread and one of them says that it is possible if the reason is valid..
Only the BON can waiver something so only they will make that decision.

Do you mind telling us in what country did you receive your RN education? Mine was done in the Philippines and all textbooks are in English. Thanks!
