  2. Hi crystal, I am going to start GW FNP on Aug 27th as well, But I still have not decide which school I should go yet, GW or Chamberlian..... my other two coworkers were accepted into this program and Chamberlian as well, we are still making decision. The GW nursing intern told me it is really hard!! it make me nervous!
  3. hi, the speaking score 26 is just for visa screen, not for VA RN license, as long as you pass the TOEFL total score 83 or the TOEIC total score 725 ( listening and reading only), you can get the license. good luck!
  4. Hello everyone, Just want to update that, well, it was pretty complicated but all end up well. So I went to the interview yesterday, the whole thing took an hour and half, for the ER RN position. Today at around 5PM, I got the call and I was offered the RN Residency job in ER. I thought ER wasn't an option but somehow I got in. It is so nice that WHC recognized all my RN working experience in foreign countries, and my starting salary was more than the new RN's, which I thought I had to be considered. I accepted the offer and is scheduled to go for physical at the end of next month. Oh one piece of information, the RN residency program starts on 2/20/2012, not 2/27/2012 as previously announced. I want to thank this great website for all the information provided and shared, much appreciated! I am so excited!!! :yeah::yeah:
  5. Hi Wesside1975, Did you get the job? How was your interview experience? I am interviewing for a ER position there soon, would love to hear from you. Regards, Helen
  6. Hi CBCLE, I just got an email from Cassandra today asking to set up an interview for an ER position that I applied. Can you tell me some interview tips? Thank you very much!
  7. Hi Hananali, I tried to send you a private message but could not and you may have intentionally left out a digit of your phone number (good move!). Do you use any sort of chat program? My Skype is helendhq. Thanks!
  8. So I called the recruiter at WHC back and it took a few tries to talk to her on the phone. Basically she wants more information from me regarding my work experience. She feels that my work experience (more than 8 years combined in China, with ER, surgical and rehab) was too much for the RN residency program, so she said she will forward my resume to the surgical unit nursing managers for further consideration. I guess this is it for me to get into this residency program. Good luck to all!
  9. Hello everyone, I applied to the Washington Hospital Center RN Residency February 2012 a few days ago and got an email requesting additional information. For those of you who are already in or had been through this program, here are my questions: 1). Is this a phone interview, or just a request for more information, leading to a possible interview later? 2). What kind of question/information will be discussed during the phone call? Thank you very much for your information, any help is greatly appreciated. I am new so I am a bit nerves. Thanks!!! PS, this is the email: Thank you for your interest in joining our nursing team here at Washington Hospital Center. I have reviewed your application and would like to follow up with you by phone. Please give me a call at 202-XXX-XXXX so that we can discuss the position further and I can gather details regarding your experience and qualifications. My office hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:00 pm. If you reach my voicemail, please leave me a single message indicating the best number and time to reach you. I will follow up with you at my earliest convenience. I look forward to speaking with you. Sincerely, XXXXX XXXXX, RN, MSN Nurse Recruiter Washington Hospital Center XXXXXXXXXXXXX 202-XXX-XXXX
  10. hi nursemacel, the requirement is depend on state board, if you are applying for VA RN license, i quite sure that VA board do not require the score 26 on speaking part, i asked them already.
  11. Hi mayanngaviola, I live in VA and passed NCLEX last Auguest, my original RN license state is CA. I'm still studying for TOEFL exam, VA board also told me that I can send copy of TOEFL passing score to board directly once I passed, BoN update checklist very slow, you should be patient. By the way, are you apply for exam or just same like me?
  12. Hi mayanngaviola. I am also an applicant for CES Report for RN endorsement to VA, I have been emailed to VA board and they told me that the minimum TOEFL ibt passing score is 83, they do not require the score 26 on Speaking section, 26 is just for visa screen. Good luck!
  13. Do you mind telling us in what country did you receive your RN education? Mine was done in the Philippines and all textbooks are in English. Thanks!
  14. I am happy to report that the PVT works. I saw my name on California BON's website this morning (8/16). I took the exam on 8/13, got the good pop up the same night, but I didn't believe it because their website was in maintenance, and I RAN OUT OF TIME on the exam. I thought I have failed for sure. Thank you all and good luck to all! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:
  15. No need to be confused and scared. If you took and past the RN exam, then you will get the good pop up. If you have never take the PN exam, then you will, of course able to register and pay for it, therefore the CC page. If you took and past the PN exam, then you should get the good pop up as well.
