Hi there!
So, I just finished up my first semester of nursing school. I have something that has been bothering me for some time, and would just like a little feedback. A lot of us have found ways to study, whether that be going over things in NCLEX books or other resources. Recently, some have stumbled upon quizlet. A lot of the students noticed that most of the test questions could be found on quizlet. Since then everyone has been utilizing that site. Those who weren't doing so well, have managed to bring up their grades and passed this semester. I'm not sure, how I feel about it. I know nursing school itself is hard, but everyone still has to do the work. Some students barely studied the books but instead studied quizlet. I was thinking about anonymously sending an email to the instructor but I don't want to jeopardize anyone getting in trouble. However, I just want it to be fair for everyone. For those who really works hard for it. I'm not sure how I feel and just want reassurance. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
How can you really prove anything though? What they do in their private homes is their business. Unless they are under a school login and dumb enough to cheat then there is nothing you can really do to get them in trouble
Generally they can't be silent and out themselves. Requires minimal to no energy on the past of the student
I'm bumping up this thread, because of my frustration with the quizlets, testbanks, et al. In my account, I don't want to blame any student for using this. Currently I blame the teachers for not making their own test questions. May it is hard to write a test question. Everybody wants to tailor and prepare their questions as to how the NCLEX ask their questions. But when the students are studying and gathering questions and combing through quizlets and testbanks mostly instead of the book, then only the narrowed down concepts from them will be learned. My current experiences, from one subject to another, and verified from different cohorts in the program in my anticipation of future nursing subjects. They all say the same. Granted we all need to pass, its a shame how this practice is trending... They cannot stop the students because they want to pass or score high. Only the professors can break this trend.
When every professor seems to be copy-pasting questions verbatim from wherever, who should you/we tell? Can't they even edit the question make it their own? And make their own test bank from there? It's just annoying. If they make their own question from their recommended textbook, people will pass because students will study what is recommended.
Annoyed.
I agree with you. The problem isn't that someone is finding the test bank and putting the questions on quizzlet, which in theory is actually a great idea, because then you get real test-quality questions to practice with. The problem is teachers copying the test bank questions for their tests.
That out of the way, they all know it's there. They're not stupid. The way I see it, them expecting students to avoid studying from those practice tests are like expecting people to not use google on a take-home test.

Because students buy test banks then post the questions to quiz let
