I just passed the NCLEX and now I'm planning to apply to tertiary hospitals while waiting for the retrogression to end. I'm a second courser and have no prior hospital work experience. Should I divulge in my application that I'm an NCLEX passer? Will I have a better chance of being hired by being silent about my NCLEX pass? What will I tell when asked what I've been doing from the time I graduated up to this time which is almost a year?
I know hospital employers are aware that most of us (especially the second coursers) are only after the training here and that we'll leave later on. But I want to productive while waiting. By working I know time will be faster and I'll be learning as well.
I'll appreciate any input, comment or suggestion. God bless!
In all due respect but I'm pretty sure if that chief nurse from your hospital have a job offer from US employers she will leave that hospital immediately and work here as well...it is already a given fact that through nursing you will have better opportunity and better life if one chose to work outside the country...Fast turn overs has been a chronic problem, the administrators of the hospital have to ask themselves why nurses leave them and they know the reason why and they don't do anything at all, so why stay?
