This probably doesn't belong in this forum, but this is the forum where I love to participate so here is where I am going to post this.

Barack Obama has just been predicted to be the president elect of the United States of America. I have never been so overwhelmed with hope and joy since my wedding or the day my son was born. This is truly a historic moment. For those of you who supported McCain I want you to know I think he is a great man. In fact, he was my guy in 2000. I hope we can move forward now and focus on so many of the problems facing us. Problems that nursing has always been on the frontline of. We are truly positioned like no other profession to reach out and help others not just in the hospital, but in the clinic, in the schools, in politics, on the street, and in people's homes. Others read about America's problems, but nurses deal with them everyday. One of the main reasons I became a paramedic and then a nurse was because I wanted to make a difference. As I stand with you guys, I know that we are.

Thanks,

Ivan

I have hope. :)

JMHO but its probably best to leave political threads where they belong. Not everyone believes that socialism is the answer to America's healthcare problems.

I read the original post twice and didn't see a message that promoted socialism, so I am not convinced that the O.P. wrote it with that intention, but chose to put it here because he or she connects most with people from this forum. I doubt that the person gave much thought to socialism being the answer to America's healthcare problems.

Although I've become an eternal cynic, it's nice to see someone with some positive thoughts and ideals. It's something lacking in the world. We can't focus on one living man to be the solution to all our problems. It's up to US.

We have other political threads, the one poll and of course the ongoing ones in the Premium Forum.

With that in mind we're going to close this thread and let your message be read here. Thanks!
