Here is my biased opinion...

Without a doubt, I srongly recommend Vickie's program. Although I am "pounding the pavement" at this time, I feel that her program gives you all the info you need to have a thriving practice. I recently attended the 2002 NACLNC conference in Las Vegas and was amazed and impressed by the current/relevant new info we were given. It was really great speaking w/ RN's that are very successful and making it work. CLNC's don't eat their young per my experience. Of course, given that you posted this 2 yrs ago, you may have already done it and could give me some advice! I know the upfront cost is high, I have no doubt in my mind that the cost is well worth it.

I agree, Vickie's program wil give you the tools, but not the pay check. I'm getting there, but working very very hard and reading everything in site. I can only hope my dream comes true!!

Good luck with your choice. The VIP is great and won't eat their young, but they don't spoon feed you either, you will have to work very hard but that is what makes you feel good about yourself!

This is my biased opinion after 17 years as a LNC - contact the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. This is the founding organization for the speciality of LNC and have defined the scope of practice, the standards of practice, and professional performance including the code of ethics for legal nurse consulting. They are a professional organization with annual educational conferences and local chapters throughout the country, and they also offer an online legal nurse consulting course - www.aalnc.org - it is a great network of people from all nursing specialities with a vast amount of experience and knowledge. There is also opportunities to be part of that professional organization at both the national and local level.

Check your area they may be a local chapter close by...

I am very seriously considering taking Vicki Milazzo's seminar and pursuing this path.
How long did it take for your consulting business to get started?
How much of getting started is "who you know" and "hitting the pavement?"
Do you feel the demand was accurately represented?
Any unbiased opinions on her seminar from those who've done it? How much coaching did you "purchase" and do you feel it's adequate?
Not that any answer will sway my final decision one way or the other, but I want to make an INFORMED decision, know what I mean?
