TO ALL RNs WHO'VE TAKEN NCLEX MORE THAN ONCE

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I failed the Nclex in July, I will be giving it again in october for 2nd time.

So, my question to those RNs, RNs to be who have taken the test more than once........How different was the NCLEX-RN test from the first time you gave it compared to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc........times.

Please, kindly shed some light???

Thank you.

Thank you so much. I am doing her plan and will be giving in december as well..

Congratulations.

Matilda50 and tflorn,

First of all congratulations:balloons:

Hope I am not too annoying. I just want to ask you guys if you guys did more than 100 questions/day. How many maximum, (~150 or more than that). Please let me know ok and god bless.

i grad in may 07. took nclex in july and failed in 75 q's. i was soo anxious. when i left the test center, i felt confident in my answers til i got home and saw where i messed up. i was miserable!!! as a single mom of 2 kids with bills, this was complete turmoil for me. i realized during my test that i was so hyped up til i was actually formulating my own answers to the questions and making wrong answers correct. i was in such a depression state afterwards to see i failed.

until i buckled down....

i used suzanne's plan, and nothing else. when i was tired, i could not get to 100 q's but i managed to do

50-100 on those days. either way it went, i did all the questions on the cd and in the book. i did not read every chapter just the ones i did 75% and less.

took nclex nov 6, i prayed and sat down and made up in my mind that i was not about to give another penny to boards. i took my precious time. i broke each answer down by process of elimination. i knew i was passing because every other ? was a priority or id get them back to back. that let me know that i was answering correctly. i would thank god very time i got one that used the words most, best, priority, essential, immediate, etc. i was sooo confident and relaxed. i took at least 2-3 min on each ques. my test shut off in 78 questions...2 days later... im a rn. without suzannes plan and god i would not have passed.

good luck to all re-takers... i was one too.

thank you for that great post. i will retake the boards for the third time after the new year sometime. i took it 2 weeks ago, and after some "downtime" and some intense depressed moments, i'm ready to get back on the bandwagon. after reading all the posts online about suzanne's plan, i've decided to go for it. i just purchased the saunders 4th edition nclex review from books a million, and plan to start suzanne's plan after the weekend is over. thanks for the post and congrats on passing your test. way to go rn!

I am again lagging behind. This feeling of failure and my doubt I can ever do it again lingers my mind again and again. Just cant concentrate. God Help Me.

I have taken RN boards 3x's with no good news results. I also taken review classes and that didn't help. So I need a word of advice to get through this examine and be down with it because I'm ready to start my career as an RN."I NEED SERIOUS HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!

SUZANNE!

SUZANNE,

The last time I took the examine I took all 265 questions. The first time went to 75? and second I went to 95! On the second time I was pushing to pass 75 which I did but now I don't know now because 265 that's all you can do....... I feel I'm ready to get dirty in studying to pass. I 'm using your 1st step stragedy . I can't lose I tried everything else too pass. Like they say best things are for free!!!!!!

no.no.no. dont even start that!!!!!!!! you are not a failure !!!!! you can and you will complete this!

i went thru nursing school durn near failing in every subject, 2 kids, bills out of this world, all by myself, failed nclex on my 1st attempt, instructors telling me "i was not gonna make it", no job, welfare, foodstamps, low self esteem and god knows whateva else. all those things made me stronger! if i can make it....you will too. challenge yourself and know that you are gonna pass.

when i was studying for my re-take and my friends would come over trying to get me to go out w/ them, id say no i have to study. i put everything to the side and buckled down!!!!! you have to do this. i will log on to this site every single day if i have to ...you will not give up... its just not a option. what do we need to do to help you succeed at this test this time?? please advise.... -tflorn

we are here to help you so feel free to ask me anything by pm or even on here. im always willing to help someone. ive failed before too.

as for me, i did 100 questions per day from suzannes plan. if i was tired, id do about 50-75. i never tried to do over 100. if i did not understand a question, id read the rationale 2-3 times. test time came and i was ready. suzannes plan restored confidence in me like never before, i knew i had passed when i walked out of the testing ctr. i had to think critically but suzannes plan gave me the knowledge i needed to think beyond recall and recognition. i thank god for people like suzanne, eric, silver...always willing to help someone who struggling. god bless them.
