I failed the Nclex in July, I will be giving it again in october for 2nd time.
So, my question to those RNs, RNs to be who have taken the test more than once........How different was the NCLEX-RN test from the first time you gave it compared to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc........times.
Please, kindly shed some light???
Thank you.

I passed on 3rd attempt and to be honest didn't think it was any different, still had the same fears in fact probably a bit stronger having failed before. It was only after failing the exam twice that I found Saunders book and found that great for studying also used the NCSBN website.
Good luck

i took nclex for the 3rd time and i felt ready but that was not the case. i dont know what to say but just keep trying because we cannot give up now we work so hard to get here. maybe we can study together or give each other encouragement. future RN to be.
im confused.....you took the nclex and felt youre ready but not....so you felt that, the time you sat infront of the computer during your actual exam? how you did?
sorry for the misunderstanding, i sat for the BON 3 times and the last experiance i felt better about my test taking skills and i did kaplan review X2 . every pre-post exam stated i was ready. i relied alot on my results from qbank and i saw the improvement overall in test taking .several times i went out on job interviews where i was giving an on the spot test nursing and i A's the test , for me thats was a big thing because i've never did that before. anyways i felt better about my self when it came down to NCLEX. no results yet on the web so i'm guessing a 4th time.
aaw...come on dont be pessimistic..you did good and just keep praying that the favor will be on you. congrats
chrisjoy,
so since you have given the test 3 times........how was the 1st, 2nd , 3rd in comparison. i want to know for example if they heavily asked you on endocrine system or Obgyn on first test......... were you still heavily tested on those. How about priority questions on all your 3 tests......were they equally tested or not........ please share it with all of us who are trying to pass the nclex after failing........

I recently failed the NCLEX for the 3rd time. I have been struggling and struggling. I know you wanted feedback from actual RN's who have failed a few times but finally made, BUT I figured I would give input also since I'm still trying. The first time I took it I got 265 questions and really I felt like I had an even variety of content questions. The 2nd time I took it I again got 265 questions but seemed to be alot of cardiovascular stuff. The 3rd time I got 75questions and I KNOW I failed that time because the test for me was a whole bunch of pharmacology. MY WEAK SPOT!!! But that was my trend and Im hoping for the best for the 4th time. I test next month and I'm really nervous! I'm still looking for the BEST study strategy and to be honest, I dont think anyone knows. I've tried everything everyone has suggested and none have been working for me. Any tips for me, I'd appreciate. I'm trying not to give up but its all about study skills and maybe I just don't have them.
