Honestly, there are so many threads on all of these topics that you could spend hours reading them! I would just do a general search against All Nurses. For instance, use "advice for new students" or "tips for new students" or "best scrubs" or "Best nursing shoes". You can even get a bit more specific, for instance "study tips". Good luck on your program!!
Well, it really is that simple. Do the work and study. Be organized. Keep a datebook and maybe even a whiteboard in your study with due dates/important dates. There is so much thrown at you so fast. You will develop your own technique once your head stops spinning, around week four or five.
Nursing school isn't terrible, it's just different. You'll have times of elation and times when you're really down. Best thing is to take it day by day and do your best.
Spend the extra money for shoes you feel comfortable in, and if they don't feel comfortable in the store you put them right back on the shelf.
Best of luck for your first semester. You'll learn so much!

I start my ADN nursing program this fall. I was excited at first but I'm getting more and more nervous as the semester approaches. I've heard good and bad things about nursing school, and I know everyone copes differently. I was wondering if there's any advice you could give me, like tips to survive nursing school? And please don't say the usual things like study and work hard. I need more in depth advice. I'm also looking for advice on all things nursing school related - types of scrubs, nursing shoes, how to get along with instructors, studying tips, studying resources, and etc. I'd even like to hear some of your stories on your learning experiences. I'd greatly appreciate it any help I can get.
Thank you and God bless!
