Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

U.S.A. California

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I hope someone can help me with these questions. The BON doesn't seem to be taking any calls at this time.

I couldn't wait any longer for the hard cards to be sent to me, so I got the FD258 cards done from the police station, but a couple of problems I foresee:

I'm not sure how particular CA BON will be of these, but for height, they put 503 instead of 5'3" and for eye color, they put BRO instead of BRN. This coding is how the police station does it, so I'm not sure if this will be a problem? I'm also not sure if I'm supposed to fill out the residence and the employer/address. Does anyone know? I appreciate any input/help!

From NY, I sent in all my packet of paperwork with the fingerprint cards on Dec 18. They just cashed my check on Feb 3… patiently waiting.

To SEAS, MSN: I would think the form would go to whatever school contained the majority of your requirements towards earning a basic RN. To be on the safe side, you could do the form for all 3, especially since CA has extra requirements that some other states don't have, such as OB or peds.

Just remember too if you took any pre-reqs at another college (like English or oral communication) that are not listed on your ADN, BSN or MSN transcripts, you need to have those transcripts sent in as well. However those ones would not need that special form attached.

It takes about 1.2 lifetimes to hear back from them [emoji23]ca is sooo slow!

Just a word of advice if you have credits from another institution that transferred to the school you received your degree from, its best to send all transcripts if you arent sure. Im waiting an extra 4 weeks because they didnt have proof of a social science credit. It was obtained at my original institution and only showed up as a credit earned on my transcripts from my graduating college. Its a frustrating process so thank you for everyone's input and advice. It at least keeps me sane while I wait patiently.

Hey guys,

I live too far from Ca, so live finger scan is not an option for me. Bon had a submission area where I submitted my address, phone etc for the hard card. When I submitted, I got something like "please allow at least 2 weeks for a mailing request". So, are they going to mail me the hard cards, so I can fill them out and mail back? Is that how it works? It has been a week, and I am waiting for a mail. I just want to make sure that I am not just wasting time here, but I will receive the card in mail after that small message. Please someone, if you went through this, is this how it works?

I am making this my first step. Once I get the card filled, I am planning to fill out the application and mail them all back together.

Hi I am also endorsing from Wi to CA and had the same thing happen, i had the education deficiencies and then they disappeared and now it just says pending/open. Just curious as to how your situation turned out? Thanks.

have you received your license? My status still says pending/open. I am wondering how long it will be that it will say this. It has been this way for 6 days now.

I think it could be that way for weeks on end. Did you get a temporary license? My temp only took a week to get issued after my check was cashed (as they had already had my livescan results in hand). However there has been no change to the Breeze status of my perm license since it was entered into the system on 2/1/16.

I turned in my paperwork at BRN in Sacramento for a temporary license on Feb 8. Did Live Scan. How do I see my status on the Breeze system?

Does Ca Bon mail the hard cards for the fingerprints to the applicant? If so, how long of a wait is that?
