Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I just called and asked to speak to the supervisor because I was so fed up with hearing the same thing. You can ask to just tell them you'll hold and don't want to be transfered to a voicemail. You can also file a complaint about the board which they assign to personnel to investigate for you. I've been waiting about the same amount of time but I'm a military spouse and my application should have been expedited by law so there is my frustration. The supervisor told me to give him a day to figure out what's going on with my application so I'll do just that. If no progress I just keep filing complaints and talking to supervisors until Wednesday then I'm booking a flight out there. I'm done with this crap. Done!

Hi! Can I ask how were you able to file a complaint? Sometimes I lose patience waiting for my license. I will be on my 7th week tomorrow but still nothing has changed. Thank you.

Google Ca BRN complaint about the board. It should pop up. You can also call 916-574-7600 to speak with someone directly. Just request to speak to a supervisor and refuse to be sent to a voicemail. Ask to wait and speak to one. And also make sure you get the name of every person you speak with in case you need to file another complaint.

Thank you very much for the information, it's a big help. :-)

Sent in my application on May 23, 2015, with fingerprint cards.

Check was cashed on June 8, 2015.

Breeze website stated "missing education history" and "status open/pending"

Called after 4 weeks of waiting after the check was cashed. No status updates. Still has the same statements as above.

I was told by one person 2 weeks ago who answered from the BRN that my fingerprint cards went through.

Still no updates. Just got off the phone with someone from the BRN saying they are still processing apps from Mid-April........ They told me the same thing a month ago.

Growing impatient....

Anyone else apply late May and are still waiting?

Thank you for the response. They told me today that they are still processing applications from April :(

My timeline so far:

May 15- Transcripts sent o BRN

June 30 - Live scan fingerprints completed in CA and application/money order sent to BRN

July 2 - Application received by BRN

July 4 - Nursys verification sent

July 22- Application opened by BRN

July 23- Status pending - missing education history

July 24- Receive email from Breeze asking me to confirm my account. I also called BRN to ask why they have not inputed my transcripts when I sent them 2 months ago. Lady told me they are still processing transcripts from April and my application is too new.

I plan to call back in mid August if nothing is updated on Breeze by then. I am so determined to get this license! I want to start traveling! Lol. Good luck to everyone else on this crazy journey. :)

It just keeps getting better...NOT! I just got a letter in the mail from the CA BRN stating that they are missing transcripts forms and transcripts. They failed to mention which ones! Being that one of my colleges where previously mentioned on Breeze as "in suspense" that surely says they received something. Thank goodness I requested that temporary license! I just gotta get this mess settled before that 6 month date. Anyone else have this happen?

Hi IowaRN80,

How to apply temporary license after initial application? I am applying a license by endorsement for California from Iowa. I sent my application document with live scan forms in June 16, UPS showed received June 17th. I didn't anticipate it would take that long time to get a license on California, so I didn't apply a temporary license at the beginning. After I read your post, I realized I did something wrong. Can you tell me how to apply temporary license? I am feeling so frustrated to wait the license approval.

Hi Guys! Just wanna share my timeline for endorsing my CO lic:

June 16 Ca BRN received my application

June 29 Cashed check and breeze email confirmation

July 3 Transcripts were received

July 24 License number posted on breeze!!!

OMG OMG OMG! it finally went through! haven't posted anything in months because they had somehow lost my finger print cards but heres my timeline:

approx. Feb 17 (2015)- requested finger print cards

March 19th -received card (finally) in the mail

march 25- everything handed in including fingerprint card, application for endorsement and fees

April 13- cash checked

(Breeze submission date states april 8th)

May 11- breeze says "pending education history"

may 19th - breeze says "open"

approx. june 20- got letter from cali BON saying they submitted a follow up with the DOJ on my fingerprint cards and their response was "there is no record and/ or transmission from your last fingerprint transaction; therefore, you will need to submit new fingerprints." (Exactly as written on the letter)

I was pretty heart broken at this point because the letter didn't even tell me if they had lost it or they were rejected- no real explanation. I couldn't get ahold of anyone at the office so I figured I would have to go and do the darn live scan done. I took an assignment in AZ, hopefully waiting it out.

On 7/21 (AN ENTIRE MONTH LATER) my cali license finally came through!

Not sure who screwed up with the finger prints but something clearly got messed up on their end but now since i'm in Arizona on my first assignment my next stop will be California!

Happy ending but don't go holding your breath, make a plan B (and C, and D). The whole process for me from when I initially requested the finger print cards (to be sent to Maine) took nearly 5 months and I did EVERYTHING exactly right. I am a meticulous, organized person who did ALL the research and read all the blogs and it nothing could have prepared me for this horrible process.

OK done with my rant now- I am a happy nurse :) good luck everyone!

You are so blessed! I wonder how yours was done so quickly!!! I live in TX and this Saturday will make it 2 months since I sent my application and my status on breeze has yet to change since the end of June.

I just got off the phone with the BON and I was told they are STILL working on the end of April applicants and have YET to start on May. They will start May applications next week (August 1). She also stated that in April they received 10,000 applicants which is why it's taking so long. It's been 5 weeks since I've paid and she told me to call back at the end of August :-(

When was your check cashed and did you send in finger print cards?

Application with LiveScan fingerprints (done in California) were sent June 1. Cash checked June 23
