Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

@shineyourway

I called the call center where I purchased my money order. They confirmed the date of encashment.

And my IA to CA Endorsement experience goes a lil something like this...

4/22- mailed my application, fingerprint cards, requested transcripts from 5 schools to be sent, registered for Nursys...all done with USPS

tracking (verifies all delivery by 4/28).

5/14- personal check cashed and Breeze shows submission date of 5/8, shows open "missing educ history" and one of my colleges in suspense.

5/28- spoke to BRN states my fingerprint card was accepted.

6/5- following this forum starting to get worried because I didnt apply for temporary license and Im scheduled to start work 8-3. spoke to BRN, was told not to apply for it wouldnt make a difference.

6/23- spoke to very nice person at BRN, stated that I should apply for temporary license due to them being far behind. I sent my request and personal check that same day.

6/29- Breeze notes and deficiencies cleared, shows open

7/8- personal check clears for temporary license request

7/9- spoke to BRN states my file is complete all except my transcript information and she doesnt understand why my temporary license has not been submitted. She thought it would be a good idea to resend all my transcripts since it had been almost 11 weeks. I was put on a call back list that could take up to 10-15 days. I was not very happy with this information. I didnt want to file a complaint because I understand they are busy and behind. But the fact that my transcripts are assumed to be lost and I should just resend them for fun, I had just had enough. I submitted my complaint.

7/10- my temporary license appeared on Breeze!! Im not sure if this was just a coincidence or if my complaint is being investigated. Either way I am happy and ready to start my dream job! Im still going to stay on top of things January (expiration date) is just around the corner!

GOOD LUCK!!!!! This experience has added so much unwanted stress to my move.

It just keeps getting better...NOT! I just got a letter in the mail from the CA BRN stating that they are missing transcripts forms and transcripts. They failed to mention which ones! Being that one of my colleges where previously mentioned on Breeze as "in suspense" that surely says they received something. Thank goodness I requested that temporary license! I just gotta get this mess settled before that 6 month date. Anyone else have this happen?

So my temporary license was issued on 5/7/15, but my status on Breeze still shows "Pending" and "Open". I've emailed and called multiple times without any luck, although I wasn't expecting much to begin with. My temporary license expires in November, so I thought maybe I should send in my original states license verification because a friend had recommended it (they apparently had to do this as well). My original state sent verification electronically on 6/10/15, and still nothing has changed! Anyone else had their temporary license just sit for awhile like this? Any info would be appreciated!

Did you get a letter from your evaluator? I received a letter with what they were missing which gave me an Entity #. I got an email for my evaluator. I'm hoping my questions get answered soon. Good luck!

No letter that I know of, but I'm waiting on my mail to be looked through. They send everything to my home address in Pennsylvania and I'm working in Oregon. I'm hoping there's not an issue since I have only a diploma RN, but my boyfriend (who travels with me) has his ASN and got his permanent license right off the bat with no temporary (even though he paid for it, and we sent in all of our information together at the same time). Guess I'll have to wait and see!

Here is my timeline:

April 17- sent in paperwork

April 27- board timestamped

april 29- cashed check

may 12- able to sign into breeze

june 1- called board and was told 60-90 days

June 15- called to check on temporary. Was told processing

June 30- files report that I have not been issued temporary in 6-8 weeks

Hello everyone. I sent in my application on June 30. They recieved it by July 2. I called today and they told me that they cannot access my account since my money order has not been cashed. I made a Breeze account but I cannot access anything yet since my file was not open. How long should I wait before I inquire about my application?

My timeline:

May 24: LiveScan done in California, nursys certification paid

June 1: Sent application with fingerprints to California BON

June 4: Sent transcripts from schools

June 21: received email to update breeze account

June 23: check cashed, BREEZE website states " Missing Education History"

July 13: called about status, was told that transcripts have not been looked try in 3 weeks

July 20: breeze site status still unchanged

So far it's been roughly a month since my check has been cashed yet the transcripts have not been looked at. Will keep everyone updated on my timeline

It took about 2 weeks before they cashed my check. Then 2 days after that, you should be able to see your app as "open". Then you wait another 4 to 8 weeks (or more) before they could approve the endorsement.

Im sorry but i accidentally hit send before i could even answer your question. According to the automated BRN phone line, you can only inquire about your app after 8 weeks of waiting for a pending license/endorsement. Even then, it is difficult to get a hold of anyone. I called multiple times, different times of the day but nobody answered the phone. I also emailed and got no response. I got so sick of BRN and i don't understand why there is a long wait. I know they are understaffed but it's not like we are not paying for processing. Oh well :-)

We just cannot get a decent reply from the call center agents. Every time I call I get different answers.

My timeline:

May 22 - Board of Nursing received my mailed application with live fingerprint scans

June 12- Received email to confirm my account. Noted on the deficiencies : missing education history. My money order was cashed June 3.

every week I would call just to ask for update but they say different time frames.

July 13 - Still missing education history noted on deficiencies. Called BRN to update and the agent said they are working on cases cashed mid April and that they are processing more than 10,000 applications. Advised me to wait and call again after 3 weeks

I just don't know what will happen next. I am on week 6 since the money order was cashed. How long does it usually take to complete the process?

Today is July 21 - I am on 6 weeks and 6 days. Still my status says open with missing education history. I don't know how much more time they will need to process my endorsement.

How can I send a complaint if this status continues until 8 weeks. I sent emails to them but no reply received.

Hi kayla,

may i know what email address you used to file that complaint. Thank you in advance and im hoping like you, I will be able to get my license soon!
