Hello all! It's a little early, but I wanted to make a new thread for all those applying this summer for TCC's Spring program! I dropped off my application this past Tuesday and am already ready for October 15th to hurry up and get here, lol!
Congratulations to everyone who received acceptance letters, and thank you to everyone for the well wishes!
If you didn't get in this semester, don't give up! There is no reason to believe that you won't be accepted next semester. There are so many inspirational stories on Allnurses that proves the power of perseverance!
I turned in my gold form today, and I am working on gathering this laundry list of requirements! See y'all at the orientation next month!!
I got my acceptance letter (yay) but I am so confused. I requested evening/weekend...it says nothing about that. I am an Lpn and I have the choice to challenge two tests to start second semester as a seat becomes available or either start from the beginning in Cohort 1 that starts the week of Jan 11. I am so frustrated. If not evening weekend I can't do it. It's like I'm being penalized for being an Lpn. Maybe I will know more when we go for the mandatory meeting. If anyone has some info to help me relax, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hey everyone! Thank you all for the best wishes. I am feeling better today. I am just gonna work on my gpa (as I'm sure that's what set me back) and I'm gonna go ahead and start working on prereqs for bachelors that way once I get into rn school (I refuse to give up) and finish then I can jump right into a BSN program. I am getting married in a month and have an infant so I truly believe this is just Gods way of telling me to wait.. January 15th my application is going back in! I'm gonna apply to other places as well! Please keep posting if you can so I can know what to expect. Congratulations again everyone!
You will get in, you are determined!
I have no doubt something good is gonna come your way. Everything happens for a reason, but I'm glad you didn't let this deter you from your goals, this is a minor set back nothing major & nothing you can't handle. My friend didn't get in because of her GPA but at the same time I'm sure you guys were close. & you never know if someone drops, they may reconsider their decision..
Ok sounds good! Just let me know when you find out!
Hello Jasmine!
I was trying to send You private message but I guess I can't. I have few questions:
1. when is your orientation meeting?
2.when do You start your classes ( date)?
3.when do You have to get your shots done?
I will call Monday but if You could call the office also. I am at work until 5pm and I might not be able to reach anyone. if everything goes good, we can meet on Tuesday 27th and make a switch in the office. This week I have only 1 day off- Tuesday and I live in Virginia Beach.
Let me know, what You think and maybe we could exchange private emails. it would easier for me that way.

As soon as I get home today I will look and get you the exact information. My email address is [email protected] and Tuesday would work perfect! I have class until 11am.
I have a quick question everyone. I work in the hospital already and I have my BLS already. It will expire and I will have to do it over in May of next year but I wanted to know will that still be good for my checklist? I am going through checklist now and trying to get everything done.
The way I see it is everyone's BLS will have to be renewed sometime during the program anyway. It's only good for 2 years and some of us are about 5 months out from starting. I'd submit what you got. If it gets declined, take the written online at onlineaha.org ($22), and have one of the BLS instructors (probably your dept. educator) test your skills. Beats losing a day sitting in class!!

I asked that question at the information session and they said we would get letters either way. Much luck to you!
