Stars glad that it has been a quiet day for you

Hi Tweety

Dianah I agree, I like to get the cooking all done at once

Ado I hope you hear from the ortho soon

Work wasn't bad yesterday, though was annoyed when a new case came just before I left.  Which means the people covering for me today will have to deal with it, hopefully it's not too complex

Rest of the day was pretty quiet, stopped at the store and exercised

Have today off for my birthday.  Since the weather is supposed to feature wind rain and snow I decided against doing outdoor stuff, and will instead head downtown to the aqurarium which I haven't been too in years (and boy have their prices gone up).  Also planning to visit a middle eastern restaurant in my previous neighborhood that I haven't been to in years either. Might do one or two other things but don't want to overschedule myself like I usually do want to enjoy the down time

It's supposed to get up to the low 40s but will be in the 30s most of the day, along with snow/rain for much of the day

Happy birthday Joe!

Heading over to my parents soon.  My brother will be coming over.  Heading home tomorrow.

Happy birthday, Joe! Seems you have a good plan in place -- the aquarium should be interesting, then some good food, and not overdoing but enjoying having the downtime!

Happy Birthday, Joe!

We endured the "bomb cyclone" without any damage. The brunt of it hit further south. We got some strong, gusty winds, but never lost power. The Seattle area had 700,000 people out of power. Northern California and Southern Oregon really got slammed, and it looks like it may hit again.

I volunteered at the demo garden yesterday, spreading compost, and cleaning up. At one point, there was a break in the clouds the sun came out. There were 2 bald eagles soaring in the sky over a field, and the sun made the white feathers on their heads and tails glow. Later there was an osprey, and a pair of hawks fly over. I was wondering if the eagles had dropped something dead in the field the way they kept circling.

In the afternoon, dh and I drove dd to SeaTac so she could take a flight to a conference in Spokane. I stopped briefly at Nordstroms to try on some jeans, and grab some beard oil for ds. dd came in with me to peruse the shoes. We both love shoes. Hi Jimmy Choo!

Got home super late. I forgot my car at dd's house ( I met dh there), so we'll need to go pick it up later. I have a massage booked today, and I'm going to grandson's robotics meet.

Stars, I hope you are getting a break today, and Nannie can into daycare soon!

Safe travels, Tweety.

Annie, I hope your poor knee gets some help, soon!

Good work on the labs, Dianah! You and Tweety inspire me to eat better.

Happy Birthday, Joe!

Today we will have temps in the mid-50's, the sun is shining, and it is VERY windy. Last night we had a phenomenal GUSTING of wind that was so strong that I thought a large dog was standing up and pawing at the screen on the backdoor because it was rattling everything out on the patio! I turned on the outside light and there was no animal out there, and I opened the door to stick my head out to check at either side of the door and WHOOOOSSSHHHH! The wind practically pushed me back inside! But it only lasted about 5 minutes. Apparently the wind was so great over in Charlotte that 2K are without power!

Chatty CG called and is running late because she had both of her dogs escape; one came back easily, but her neighbor drove up and told her that her other dog was way down the road, like it was walking to the mall. She said her neighbor said "Hop in and I'll drive you down there." The dog was ignoring anyone else who tried to nab it, but when they drove up and she got out and yelled to the dog, "Wanna go for a ride?" and the dog turned right around and came to her.

SiL called after her appt w/ the neurologist. She said she is supposed to get a shot on Dec 2nd, and they are hoping it will help the pain, and the doc said that her having remained active all this time was a benefit to her! He told her she could keep working, "But don't be stupid." (!) He then told her that nothing was going to 'make it go away' except hardware and a fusion. HUH! So, we aren't sure when that will be, but it will have her healing for a couple of months. Not sure what her activity level will be or how long she will be "out" of commission. Happy to have a diagnosis, but bummed about the coming surgery. But, she says "It's all good". I know it will affect me and Nannie, but not sure how much, so I am trying not to be bummed out, but it looks like my main source of assistance will be hobbled for a while. Have not heard anything yet about either of the daycare options. Do I have a cloud over my head like that cartoon character? I know this is not about ME, but I can't help but secretly roll my eyes and sigh. THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

So, I have to get Nannie up now; CG will be here in a little while, but I was going to have HER get Nannie up. However, it is 1:30 PM and it must be done! Then I have to trek over to Walmart for refills and some OTC things.

Later.....

Oh boy. CG said she had strep this week and is on antibiotics, and she has a cough. Hopefully the antibiotics have taken away her 'contagiousness'.

I am off on my errands now....

Happy Birthday, Joe!  You're lucky we're not closer, we might converge on you (just join you for lunch and the aquarium, nothing else obnoxious, LOL!)!  Aquarium sounds nice!

nursej22, I love shoes too (but they MUST be comfortable)!  Especially if I am to walk in them at Disneyland, LOL!

Safe travels tomorrow, Tweety!

No Stars, bummer about CG being sick.  And about SiL's upcoming post-op limitations -- which impacts you!  As you said, (and I quote a meme I saw on Facebook) "This too will pass.  It may pass like a kidney stone, but it WILL pass."

I have no plans for today.  May go out to pay the $11 bill at the dentist.  And pick up a couple things at the grocery store, things I forgot to get when I was there (with a list, even!) yesterday.  Well, I need to pick up supplies to make the Chicken Tomatillo Soup again, as we had it last night and agreed it was a KEEPER!  Let's do it again!

We are working on setting up a Zoom call with the ds's for this weekend, which will be nice.

Y'all have a good day and evening!

At the check-out in Walmart, two carts In front of me, there was a 9 or 10 year old boy who had slipped something into his mom's cart. While she was unloading her things, she picked up this object, raised her eyebrows, and said to her son, "No." She set in on the shelf. When I got to that shelf, I had to pick it up to see what the kids was trying to trick his mom into purchasing. It was a 4-5" box, shaped like a casket (!). It had a toy bear inside it (not visible) '#6 in a series'....And it was labeled: "DEDDY BEAR" 😮  I really have no idea what the cost was, but whatever it was, it was probably way to much! And I thought it was quite possibly a worse 'toy' than the Garbage Pail Kids of years gone by.  smh
