I'm up. It is 12:12 PM and I'm having my coffee and trying to get more alert.
Momo ate her Wednesday's breakfast last night just before we went to bed. And she ate her breakfast this morning, too, so she obviously feels better.
Haven't heard otherwise, so I guess Chatty CG is coming around 1 PM. I have a list of the things we usually run out of first, so I will be going to the grocery store. The boxes in the back of my car can be dropped off at the Thrift Store. And I have to check on my bank balance. I think (and hope) I am correct about not having any loan or card payments until Aug 1st and Aug 11th, but I want to check the acct transactions just-in-case. I have to pay close attention so I don't mess things up again, after they've been straightened out. I haven't been out and spending because the weather has been so disgustingly hot and humid, so I haven't gone out much at all.
Gotta get Nannie up now. I still haven't taken time to show the CG how Nannie's 'morning' routine goes. I should, I know, but I just don't feel like going through all that once CG gets here, as it will put me going out later than I'd like to, and eating up part of my day (5 hours) 'off'.
Time to stop blathering and get to it!
Hello, all. Glad Slowbro and Momo are feeling better.
I checked in with my brother who lives on the Texas Gulf coast. They were without power for ... I don't know. A while. But all else was fine.
Our boil advisory was lifted on Monday (yay).
Stepson continues to be in touch, though still sending some crazy texts to everyone.
I looked up the status of my passport application and it is approved, and should get here by July 15. Good, because my flight is July 30.
Joe,
Bacon grease is a great way to get rid of hairballs. Just just give a slice of bacon chopped up. Cats love it ! I have had 6 cats. One would come into the room when I had company and hack a hairball out. So embarrassing! Someone told me about bacon grease (being a lubricant) and it never happened again
Good afternoon. The weather is so nice today, 72. I've cleaned up the kitchen, done some weeding in the vegetable garden, and mowed the backyard.
Yes, it's good to see that Momo and Slo Bro are on the mend. Jozee's eye is healing. She's been very good about allowing eye drops, gobbles up her pill. Both dogs seem to appreciate the cooler weather too, running and wrestling in the yard. I think wrestling is how she scratched her eye. They play rough.
Once dh gets home with the groceries, I plan to make a panzanella salad--Italian bread salad. Last night we had pasta with pesto sauce and parmesan cheese, and I sautéed some cauliflower in olive oil and then sprinkled it with Italian dressing. I am trying to get dh used to the idea of a meatless meal once a week.
Annie, you're going to Canada, right? We used to drive up to the Vancouver area when the boys were young, and never needed passports. Those days are long gone!
Goodness. Glad Jozee's eye is healing. I've never had to give any of my pets eye drops, that I remember.
Hubs, on the other hand, has eye drops again because he scratched his cornea somehow. He has a pterygium in that eye, too, so he's really had some irritation.
My guys aren't thrilled with meatless meals but I do try to make them do it occasionally. Yep, going to Canada. Gma and I drove stepson to a diving competition in Buffalo, NY in 2000 or 2001 (before September 😢). We crossed the border to go to Niagara Falls. We had taken his cousin with us and I think she brought a birth certificate ... we researched at the time what we needed to do to get us all safely through and back. It would not work that way today. I'd probably be in jail for trying to traffic those teenagers.
Evening all! Like many, I am enjoying the "cooler" weather. High 80s is still too hot if you ask me but far more tolerable than high 90s/low 100s!
Currently in bed pretending it's time to sleep (shhhhh.... It's really time to scroll AN/FB/other time wasting websites). At least, in the small portion of my cats' queen sized bed that I am allowed by them to use. Oddly, even though there's now one less cat, I did not gain any real estate on the mattress.
Also, hiccups when trying to relax are extremely annoying.
G'day!
I decided to support a small business and ordered some Loa spices that were arriving today. I got a text saying the package I ordered was delayed. I didn't click it on and sure enough my package was at my door. My question is how do these scammers know I had a package coming today?
I was exited to see Slowbro poop today because he didn't yesterday. He's eating well. He wouldn't drink when I put him in front of the water though. I think he's on the mend. He pooped inside then found his doggie door and went outside to sniff around. Go figure.
I got a really good annual review this year. 4.9 out of 5.0. A little ding for time management since I'm always late clocking out. Hopefully in October I'll get a raise even though I'm near the top rage of my salary grade.
Worked today was a few shift change drama things and I was late getting out again. Sigh.....
Chatty CG came 10-15 min late, but I was all set and ready to go when she got here. I got home 1/2 hr before the end of her shift; once I got through putting stuff away, I came down to the den when it was time to tell her she could go. Well. She started talking. And talking, etc, etc, etc. Started about her shoes; Nannie had been trying to recall who she was, before she got here, and I told her, "You know....she's blonde and always is wearing athletic shoes that look brand new, and she has a LOT of shoes." Nannie knew immediately who I meant. It's always the shoes!
From there, the conversation went on and on, ending up with a history of her confusing family relationships and everyone's health issues, (an unmarried uncle on life support, which was d/c'd almost immediately), the divorces, the step-relatives and half siblings and the hullaballoos over the items in the uncle's house, and how the half-sister and her husband sneaked into the house after his death (without a will) and took everything that was of any value, etc, etc. Then (take a breath) when she (CG) ran into the step-sister at a drugstore, the step-sis sat down on the ONLY waiting chair and smirked at her (CG), at which time CG grabbed the step-sis and began repeatedly punching her in the face, after which CG was taken to court and rec'd a restraining order and asked the judge what would happen to her if she ran into the step-sis again and ended up punching her again.........you know, ALL the things you didn't ask about and wished you hadn't had to listen to FOR 45 minutes before she finally left!!
Mah gawd! I mean REALLY!!
But I got a lot done while I was out. Went to the eye doc's office, tried on and chose my new frames (appt is on the 23rd). Got a new set of sheets, and some underwear, and a purse. Could not find any shoes I liked, nor were there any tan chino pants in my size. After grocery shopping, I was done.
I just finished making Nannie's bed with freshly laundered sheets, and now it is time to put her to bed!
Well. I misunderstood. Brother and SIL still have no power and they've been told it will be at least the 14th before they do.
My passport came today! Did you ever see the Steve Martin movie The Jerk? He got excited when his name was in the phone book, like "I'm a real person!" That's how I felt. But boy that picture is awful.
I hate my passport picture. I'm shiny and old looking. But glad you got your passport Ado. I was without power 6 days after a hurricane once. It was maddening.
Stars, the unit secretaries we have are chatty, probably due to boredom and it drives me crazy when I'm in charge. Shut up already. One constantly complains about her body ailments. She's working today so I'll get back to the ailment of the day.
Spoke to soon as Slowbro was vomiting at 3:40 AM. Thing was I woke up to pee and before I could fall back also he wretched. When I woke up the light was still on. I guess the Trazadone and fatigue makes me fall asleep faster than I think with book in one hand and Waffles close by in the other. Happened two days in a row. But I usually am very tired when I get to bed. Which the meds kept me asleep but I'm thankful for the sleep I get.

Tweety glad Slowbro is better
Stars I hope you feel better
Work was quite busy yesterday, as expected, kind of a grind all day. Did pretty good about staying calm and mindful, but it was a bit of a challenge and quite a bit of work
Rest of the day was quiet. Exercised and did some research on cat foods. Want a higher fiber one for the cat to help her deal with hairballs, which have been especially bad this year
Today at work will probably be nearly as busy as yesterday. After work have to make an appetizer for the potluck the gay group is having on Friday
Going to be in the low 80s again, I don't think any rain is expected
