Three months to kill before Nursing School... what to do

Published

In less than three months, I begin Nursing school. I'm super excited and wish that it would start tomorrow. While the 15 month program is super intense, I kind of like the fact that I can relax with my family until it begins. However, what would be some recommendations as to how to prepare for what lies ahead. Is there any must have books to read, Youtube video's to watch or anything that I should do to help acclimate once the program begins?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks....

I would recommend reading ahead and doing practice exams. Nursing exams are killers and they are not like your regular exams which are black and white. Nursing exams are hazy.

I just got accepted for fall as well. Any advice as to "where" to get good solid info to study for these dosage calculations, vital stats, lab values etc? The last thing I want to do is study incorrect data. Thank you!!!!

Dosage calc formulas are pretty simple and a simple YouTube/Google search will give you all the info you need. As for lab values, I'd hold off as they're slightly different per school/book/facility same with vital sign values. Brush up but enjoy the break

I'm going to echo the rest of the posters and say relax, but with a caveat; find some things that are good for stress relief or an activity you can enjoy through nursing school. Stress relief is important during nursing school and beyond. Otherwise don't worry about school until it comes. Just focus on sleeping, eating well, and enjoy the time off.
