I have a demented old gal who can still communicate, but you have to hear what she's actually asking with the words she still has available.
She's yelling, "WATER!" repeatedly and loudly. I bring her some nectar liquid and she thirstily gulps it. Manages, "Thanks." Looks at my new scrub jacket and says, "Pretty." I'm stroking her head and I give her a kiss. She gives me a kiss. We do this several times and she indicates that she wants more to drink.
I get her another drink and she's going, "Ah!" after each sip. She says, "You're good." I lean over to kiss her and she tries to bite me.

I came home last night with red lipstick all over my cheek... it was from the many kisses I got from my resident. Then another one of my residents and I danced the night away last night. I love those special moments.

Ouch, the attempted bite ruined the story. But thanks for sharing. Still hurts, I hope she had biter's insurance!
I said "attempted." I'm on to her now.
Sorry, my bad! I corrected my entry after rereading your post!
Oh, no problem. It's just funny, though, because I know she is genuinely fond of me. Then she bites me.
I have a cat like that. She really loves me, really she does!

I love my babies? Do you work in PEDS? If you were my nurse and referred to me, a grown woman, as a baby, I might be like Sue's patient and try to bite you!
I refer them as my babies in my heart....I don't tell them that to their face but either way.............once a man, twice a child!
