thomas jefferson bsn program, drexel, or villnova??!?

Hey everyone! I am new to this site, however I have been looking through posts for a couple months now. I am currently finishing my second year at community college. I applied to TJU, Drexel, and Villanova for Fall of 2015. I would start at TJU as a junior and at Nova and Drexel I would be transferring in as a sophmore( I have all of the academic classes completed, but these two schools start clinicals sophmore year). I have been accepted to TJU and Drexel for fall 2015 and I should be hearing from Villanova this week. I am so torn between which school I should go to. Has anyone else applied to any of these programs? Also if anyone is currently in any of these programs or has completed one of these programs it would be helpful to hear how you like it. I love the co-op part of Drexels program, however it is VERY pricey and I have heard some negative things about the program. I have also heard that getting the required 950 on the hesi has been difficult for many students, which scares me. I have always loved TJU's program but they do not offer a co-op or guarantee an internship. It would be great to chat with some people that are in a similar situation or have applied to one of these programs. I need to give Jefferson a deposit within 2 weeks and I am having such a hard time deciding.

I think you need a 65 but I haven't heard anyone worrying about it and we are taking in 2 months. It isn't made to be a big deal like the Drexel exam is. All our tests are in NCLEX format (multiple choice/ select all that apply) so they really teach you so that you can pass Kaplan and NCLEX. But the Kaplan tests that we take throughout the year are not easy!!

I LOVE the program. I am very happy I did the 12 month since it goes by so fast, but you learn a lot. The clinical instructors that I have had are all great nurses who train you well. A few of the teachers aren't that great but you can get through it because there are a lot of other good ones. My biggest advice for anyone thinking about doing the program is to make it your #1 priority because you have to study a lot. In the end it is worth it.

I got a small scholarship, but talking with other people in the program, it looks like they gave a bunch of people the same amount. I think I got a letter about it a few weeks after my official acceptance. I don't know much about financial aid but I don't think they offer much because it is a 2nd degree program (but that's the same anywhere). If you call financial aid they are pretty helpful though.

Also if you are interested in neuro nursing, we have a neuro rotation at the jeff neuro hospital. I heard from instructors that not every school offers this rotation. (IT WAS SO COOL)

Hey everyone!

I sent my application for TJU through NursingCAS a few weeks ago, but they haven't verified my application yet. How long did it take you to have your application verified after all your materials were received? I'm getting anxious because I still have to submit the supplemental application and I really want to get in ASAP.

Cuethemusic- Once my materials had been verified, it took TJU around 3 weeks to send me the supplemental application. Good luck throughout the application process!

It took a long time for my application to verify, probably about a 4-6 weeks. Once it is verified, then you have to do the supplemental app. Once I submitted my supplemental app the process seemed to speed up. I would say 2-3 weeks after I submitted my supp. app I received an invite to an interview. After the interview you get your decision within 1 week. They said it took so long for my app to verify because they had so many applications and they were backed up from the FACT review process. So, unfortunately it may be awhile before you get a decision, but that def doesn't mean that you're not getting in. I hope this made you less nervous because it is definitely normal for it to take weeks for the app to verify. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

I graduated from Jeff's FACT Program in 2011 and I really loved my experience! The instructors I had were excellent and they really cared about making sure the students succeeded. There were a lot of opportunities to get involved on campus, i.e. JeffPeds Nursing, Leadership Live, representing nursing students on school committees, etc. Jeff also has an emphasis on interdisciplinary education, so there are opps to do mock codes, attend grand rounds, etc. with other health profession students. I had great clinicals and was very well prepared for my first staff nurse position, though I've since moved on to nursing administration. I love Jeff so much that I became a Jeff student again in Fall '14 - DNP Program :) Trust me, you will NOT regret going to Jeff!

Hi everyone!

Can anyone tell me where to submit the prerequisite worksheet for Jefferson because I just realized I never submitted that, and I wasn't sure if that is one of the reasons why I haven't heard back from Jefferson yet about my admission decision.

Thanks a bunch!

Did you figure it out? Also, you won't get an admission decision until you first do the supplemental app and an interview. I don't think they invite everyone to interview but you will get an interview if they're going to accept you. The process takes awhile, they prob just have a lot of apps to go through right now!

Yeah, it turns out I didn't need it. I submitted the supplemental application two weeks ago and am just playing the waiting game. It's killing me!!!!!!:dead:

Ahh, I agree the waiting sucks! I think they invited me to an interview about 2 weeks after I submitted to supplemental app. I had my interview on a Friday and they accepted on the following Monday! Once you get your interview you will get a decision really quick! You are almost there now, the majority of the waiting is over! Good luck and keep us updated! :)

Thanks for your words of encouragement!! I hope to hear back from Jefferson soon so the waiting game can finally be over!! I will definitely let you know what happens!!
