  1. Ahh, I agree the waiting sucks! I think they invited me to an interview about 2 weeks after I submitted to supplemental app. I had my interview on a Friday and they accepted on the following Monday! Once you get your interview you will get a decision really quick! You are almost there now, the majority of the waiting is over! Good luck and keep us updated! :)
  2. Did you figure it out? Also, you won't get an admission decision until you first do the supplemental app and an interview. I don't think they invite everyone to interview but you will get an interview if they're going to accept you. The process takes awhile, they prob just have a lot of apps to go through right now!
  3. You would need to do 2 years of prereqs somewhere else first before going to TJU. You can only transfer in as a junior as someone else already mentioned. I did two years a BCCC then applied to TJU this year and I got in for Fall 2015. Honestly, doing two years at community college will save you SO much money so I really recommend doing that. Jefferson is selective and they definitely don't accept everyone. If you can maintain your 4.0 gpa during your first two years of college you definitely have a good chance of getting in. Also, you won't necessarily get hired at Jeff just because you went to school there. There are way to many students and not enough open positions.Temple is cheaper than TJU, however since you would be going to community college for 2 years and then Jeff for 2 years it ends up being around the same price. I would research both programs a little more and see which school/route you prefer. Good luck!
  4. Hey everyone. I am not applying/going to Abington, however I was accepted to Thomas Jefferson University's BSN program. I recently heard that Jefferson and Abington are merging this spring, which kind of concerns me because these mergers aren't always successful. They are currently trying to figure out what the new name will be so they will not continue to be Jefferson and Abington. Thomas Jefferson University is included in the merger, but I'm not sure if Dixon will branch off separately or if it will be included. In the article they only mentioned the Jefferson schools being included. Does anyone know anything about this or have any additional info on how this will affect the students at both schools?
  5. It took a long time for my application to verify, probably about a 4-6 weeks. Once it is verified, then you have to do the supplemental app. Once I submitted my supplemental app the process seemed to speed up. I would say 2-3 weeks after I submitted my supp. app I received an invite to an interview. After the interview you get your decision within 1 week. They said it took so long for my app to verify because they had so many applications and they were backed up from the FACT review process. So, unfortunately it may be awhile before you get a decision, but that def doesn't mean that you're not getting in. I hope this made you less nervous because it is definitely normal for it to take weeks for the app to verify. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
  6. Thank you futurebsn25 for clarifying that! Do you need a certain score on the final Kaplan or is it more just a pass or fail type thing? Also, it seems like you are currently in the program right now, so if you don't mind answering a few questions? -do you like the program? -do you know anything about financial aid and scholarships? TJU was the only school I've heard of that doesn't award scholarships with the acceptance letter. I will be relying on at least getting some financial aid, so I'm just curious how that whole process goes.
  7. NaomiBd- I am also not allowed to send pm's! I think you need to have made a certain amount of posts before you are able to. If you want you can email me at [email protected] Let me know once you see this so I can delete this post because I don't want my person email on here!!
  8. Hey I also applied to Drexel for fall of 2015! I was accept in December. I was also accepted to thomas jefferson university and I am debating which school I want to go to. I will be transferring in as either a sophmore or a junior. I think all three of those schools require a gpa of 3.0. However, it can't hurt to apply! Have you done any community service or volunteer work in a hospital that would possibly make you stand out and compensate for your gpa? Good luck!
  9. NaomiBd- I am literally torn as to what school to pick. I am waiting to hear a decision from nova but they require religion classes and I really don't want to do extra classes at this point. I went to the accepted nursing students day at Drexel, but I have not toured Jeff yet. Did you talk to students there? Can you tell me a little bit more about why specifically you are leaning towards Jeff? nurseylove- Thanks so much for your input! I have talked to a few people from Jeff and I've only heard amazing things about the program. Could you answer a few questions for me? -Firstly, does TJU require you to talk an exit HESI before sitting for the nclex? If so, what is the required score needed? I know Drexel requires a 950 and I have heard this has been difficult for a lot of students, which scares me. -Where did you do your clinicals at? -How were your professors for nursing courses? Were they helpful/friendly? - How does financial aid/scholarships work there? I go a pretty big scholarship to Drexel, but when I talked to someone from TJU they said scholarships are not awarded until right before classes start. Meaning, I would have to commit there without knowing what kind of financial help I would be getting. Also, do they give financial aid? I will be relying on aid/scholarships/loans and I don't want to graduate with too much debt. Thank you so much and congrats on finishing the program!!!:)
  10. Also, did you apply to any other schools?
  11. I would be transferring into the 4 year 1 co-op program, but I would be starting as a sophmore. I have already completed all of the academic classes for my BSN so I would just be doing the nursing courses and clinicals. I will technically be a junior when I start, but since Drexel starts clinicals soph year so I have to start there. Which program would you be doing at Drexel? Im assuming you are transferring too if you applied to TJU? Congrats on being accepted by the way! :)
  12. Hey everyone! I am new to this site, however I have been looking through posts for a couple months now. I am currently finishing my second year at community college. I applied to TJU, Drexel, and Villanova for Fall of 2015. I would start at TJU as a junior and at Nova and Drexel I would be transferring in as a sophmore( I have all of the academic classes completed, but these two schools start clinicals sophmore year). I have been accepted to TJU and Drexel for fall 2015 and I should be hearing from Villanova this week. I am so torn between which school I should go to. Has anyone else applied to any of these programs? Also if anyone is currently in any of these programs or has completed one of these programs it would be helpful to hear how you like it. I love the co-op part of Drexels program, however it is VERY pricey and I have heard some negative things about the program. I have also heard that getting the required 950 on the hesi has been difficult for many students, which scares me. I have always loved TJU's program but they do not offer a co-op or guarantee an internship. It would be great to chat with some people that are in a similar situation or have applied to one of these programs. I need to give Jefferson a deposit within 2 weeks and I am having such a hard time deciding.
