Failed due to ROOT any advice?

My school had Kaplan built into the tuition. I think it taught me a lot of strategies, which could help you narrow down answers faster so you don't run out of time. If you fail they also will give you money back. I highly recommend Kaplan!

Competency on NCLEX vs. scores on NCLEX study materials

I used Kaplan through school and I just found out I passed. The class is very helpful too. In the class we were told our QBank average should be at least 60%. All Qbank questions are above the line questions. We also took a readiness test at the end of the class and we were told to shoot for 60-65%. I got 62% and felt confident going into the test. It shut off at 85. Sounds like you are definitely on the right track!!!

    Just left NCLEX RN

Thanks for the encouragement!! Around 22-23 hours after the exam I went to my PA BON license checklist website and my license went from 'pending' to 'active' with a license number. Did not have to pay for quick results. I am SO excited!!!

    Just left NCLEX RN

I'm an absolute nervous wreck! I think I failed. Test shut off at 85 questions. I prepared with Kaplan and did almost the entire qbank with remediation. I also used the study guide floating around here. I just tried PVT even though I need to wait; used my credit card and changed the expiration date, clicked submit and I got the good POp up. Any words of encouragement are appreciated cause I thought the test was very difficult! The questions are a blur to me now.

I Have done the Deed: Moved NCLEX up to the 18th. AHHHH!!!

I also moved my date up. First I was scheduled the 25th and then changed to the 18th but it was out of state and I was going to stay in a hotel. Now I moved it again because another date opened up closer by so I will be taking it the 17th!! :) I have also been studying using Kaplan and I think it has prepared me well. Good luck :)

Passed in 75! My NCLEX Experience

Thanks for all the encouragement and congrats! I'm testing this week and my school also enrolled us in Kaplan (last week). I though it was a HUGE help. @nightflower the course is a lot of strategies to teach you what to do if you forget a lab value or a med. I think that was a huge help because you aren't going to remember everything and have to rely on strategies to get you through. They don't review much content in the course but they offer enough content review in the online materials. Good luck :)

Kaplan and Saunders Percentages for NCLEX

My class had the Kaplan course built into tuition. Our teacher for the course said you should aim for 60% on the cumulative QBANK score so I would say you are in good shape there! The lady also recommended doing 90% of the QBANK with remediation. I'm about to test this week too so I have been going through the qbank. good luck :)

Timeline for graduation, NCLEX, and 1st RN Job

Here's my update!! Hope I don't jinx anything 4/16 sent in application/ paid fees 5/27 graduated and school sent grad verification (PA BON and from a PA school) 6/12 ATT (seemed like they were sent completely randomly because some of my classmates who put in applications a few weeks ago were sent ATT before me and I paid over a month ago) 6/16 interview for nurse residency 6/18 (because I'm crazy!) nclex

    Jefferson FACT 2015 Applicants

I'm not sure how many people apply to the program but your best bet is to apply as soon as you can so the spots don't fill up. I know a lot of people were still finishing up pre-reqs while they were applying. They just need to be finished by the time you begin in May.

    New grad residency

So I just found out I was chosen to be interviewed for a new grad residency. They did not ask us to specify which floors we would have preference towards. I do have a preference for a certain area but I am also open to whatever comes my way. Does anyone else who has applied/ gone through a residency had this happen? What usually happens in the selection process?
  14. Definitely try to be a CNA. I know that around me, you are already eligible for some jobs at hospitals just by having one clinical rotation done, so you don't even need the certification. You can also look for positions called nurse externships. While you are at clinical, you should definitely try to make relationships and be helpful to the nurses. Networking with other nurses is extremely valuable.

    Part time new grad?

I have seen a lot of jobs for new grads posted as part time. How long does it usually take to get full time?

Timeline for graduation, NCLEX, and 1st RN Job

Thanks!@friendlyelse I actually called them today and they said to just keep waiting. I graduated 5/27 and the school sent verification that day to the BON that I graduated. From that point, it can take 10-14 days to get ATT. I have been refreshing my email like crazy hoping that it comes asap!
