This years Flu Shot?

We had a lot of people with bad reactions after they had this years flu shot. A lot of them had real feverish red spots with pain radiating down their arms, a lot of N/V going on. I know that the shot is not supposed to make you sick cause of it being dead viruses. I'm just wondering how the rest of you are tolerating them this year. I had mine and I did not have a problem.

ive never got a flu shot, but i was thinking of it this year sence the hospital is giving them out in the ER. i keep thinking yeah when I get some down time ill walk over there, ya right. then I say maybe on my break, but my craving for a smoke far outweighs that one

Never gotten the flu shot and never gotten the flu.

Why fix it if it ain't broken?:D

I get a flu shot every year, no problem. This year, got mine about 10 days ago. That night, sick as a dog! N/V, diarrhea, severe chills, 102 temp. Was gone by the next evening. I want to know what they did different with the vaccine this year, too!

Everybody that has never had the flu -- boy, are YOU lucky! Those of you that are students might not STAY so lucky when you start working FT in nursing. Especially working ER. Get the shot!

no such reaction and never have had such..and never knew anyone who did. could be,you got exposed to flu after the shot? i have not heard of the SHOT itself making anyone sick...unless allergic to its components.

:p Got mine...NO PROBLEM!!!! The trick will be when I go to administer 70+ shots at our local school district to teachers. I hate giving those shots to folks that I know and have to see locally!! It is hard to see them at Wal-Mart and have to hear about how sore their arms are and how they got a fever and how their mother's cousin's sister-in-law died one year from a flu shot!!! People just crack me up!!

Many people at my facility got sick when they got the flu shot this year. Fever, fatigue, chills, etc.

I have yet to have a problem from the flu vaccine.

Just wanted to say that I'm just over a week of the worse flu that I've ever had and still don't feel 100%. Some of my co-workers have also had the flu; they say it takes more than2 weeks to get back to normal. The flu shot just became available here in the past 2 weeks-- I was scheduled to get mine on Tuesday last week but was already sick by then.

I'll take the shot (and any possible local reaction) any day over this strain of flu!

This is the first year I had any reaction to one! About 1/2 hour after I got it I had intense itching in that arm, got home, still itching, had a huge RED hard area on my arm, took some Benydryl and motrin. Next day, still looks the same, still itches. At 48 hours I was achy and tired. Still am today! I have never had a reaction to one of these before and I have been getting them for years!

I said I thought I got the sludge off the bottom of the vial LOL

Got my very first ever flu shot yesterday, other then sleeping through my alarm clock yesterday (which I think was just I was very tired) I have had no problems so far (knock wood).

Got my flu shot 11-1...arm was sore x 2 days, felt very tired for the first 24 hours.

Was giving them to ER staff last night, so hopefully they don't have rxns and hunt me down. ;)
