This wait is KILLING me....ADVICE?

Ok, here is my story. I go to a local CC. I turned in my Nursing App in Feb. Deadline was 4-30-12. We are not supposed to get letters until the end of June/ beginning of July. I was told yesterday that our school had approx. 450 applicants for 48 spots!! All I want is to be accepted and get that big fat envelope in the mail! I do have a 4.0 and I did decent on my TEAS exam....Any thoughts on how to stay busy and quit worrying so much? LOL....These last few weeks are killer :)

We can only tell you so much things to do believe me i know exactly what you're going through i just recently found out i was accepted for this fall and let me tell you no matter what i did to keep myself busy i always ended up thinking about that manila envelope!!! And i always found myself calling the school for something! LOL the wait is excruciating but you will get through this. Good luck! im crossing my fingers for you!

Thank you, and CONGRATS to you!!!!! I will make it, it is just hard to think about LOL!

I agree the waiting is SO HARD!

The wait is horrific! I'm waiting with you! Hoping to hear this week, but will for sure by the 30th of this month. It seems so far away. I'm extremely busy with summer semester & my little ones but still.. I can't keep my mind off of it.

I just wanted to tell you that I got in for the fall and my GPA was only a 3.4 and I did OK on the TEAS, not great but not bad. The school I'm going to had over 300 applicants for 30 spots...Thought I'd boost your confidence a little :)

GOOD LUCK!!!

The week that I knew letters were going out was the worst one for me. I couldn't sleep, I wasn't hungry - I even yelled at my mom for asking a simple question. It was bad. I got a regular letter sized envelope in the mail but it was thick so don't freak out if it isn't a big white envelope! :)

LOL, thanks guys for making me feel better. It is hard for anyone here at home to understand how important this is to me! They are very supportive, but they look at it like- if you don't make it this time, try again. I don't want to wait. I'm ready NOW!!

I have a not so simple to answer question: how common is it for people to have a 3.8 and higher gpa? Like overall gpa.

I can't begin to think how common it is for a 4.0? I would really like to think that it's fairly uncommon LOL! I'm really not sure though?

I have a 3.83 overall. My school looks at gpa first. They take 100 students. They had almost 400 applicants. I'm just wondering if I have good chances based on that lol

Oh wow! Congratulations!!! I have a 4.0, and did OK on the TEASV with highest score in Math....Im betting maybe after reading this I have a fair shot! I know there are several hundred applicants, so who knows.... Now, I'm even more anxious to find out!

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!

impressive a 4.0... now to my advise...get busy like take up zumba plus yoga and use your energy to keep your mind and mental health plus physical in shape. having said that, remember if it's meant to be no one can't take it away from you plus you sound like the type of person that is a go getter therefore, don't despair as i wish you the very best in all of your future endeavors and send you a hug  from across the miles....aloha~

Exercise is wonderful. I really need to start running/jogging again. It works wonders. It's been almost 3 weeks. :/ I have at least two more weeks of possible waiting

LOL. thanks! Me too :) I'll know something by the 30th. Guess I can suck it up until then. Right now I just need good luck for the 24 page chemistry exam I am about to go in and take! And it's storming-- but silly me who lives an hour away didn't know that and wore flip flops!
