That is sad! We just got told we will get written up if we are caught wearing mask in regular, non iso rooms even though many patients have coughs and are not being tested for coronavirus. Maybe I need to be re educated but I just got over bronchitis after catching it from a patient plus I don't want to infect my family again.
Anyone else’s hospital locked up ALL the masks? They are asking us to REMOVE our own masks if we want to wear them in the units while not in the patient’s rooms. They are isolating the suspected patients in the same areas with the infected patients and the nurses are NOT CHANGING OUT PPE between these cases! ALSO, they are screening INSIDE the hospital and the nurses screening are being told they are NOT allowed to wear PPE while screening. Anyone else dealing with this?

Get a physician to write you a prescription to wear a mask. I have asthma and get pneumonia every couple of years. My last bought was in 2019 and I was off the job on medical leave for 21 days. So yes I wear a mask in our moderate risk unit. They tried to tell me I had to take a leave of absence if I felt the risk was too High and I just ignored them and wore a mask anyway. After all I was looking for a job when I found this one.
