There is not one person in my class

with a 4.0

I read that so many people have a 4.0, but I know none of my classmates do. For our first 2 classes the teachers posted grades and not one person got an A in either of those classes. In fact, the teacher for the second class said on the first day "No one will get an A in my class. I don't like to give As"

There was a student who went off on her after the fluid/electrolytes test. Immature, really, but I would like to have witnessed it! I guess she was right in her face swearing and waving her hands around about unfair content. Interestingly enough, she is the oldest student in our class-- late 50s or early 60s I would say.

Hah, hah! I am 51, and I can see myself doing the same thing. The older I get, the less nonsense I am willing to put up with. And having taught at a university for 4 years, I am even less willing to put up with nonsense from profs. So far, my profs have been good, though....

I would have had loved to be taping lecture when she said that. It's understandable if no one is getting an A by their own accord, but to tell the class you WON'T give an A no matter what. I would be taking that up with a higher up if I had proof of her saying that.

I didn't know that instructors gave grades, I thought you earned them. What if someone got every question right on all of her tests???? that teacher sounds like a jerk!

Had an instructor that made a very similar comment on the first day of class and I DID stand up and say something to the effect of "The if you trying to tell us that you are not capable of teaching A quality, I want my money back..."

Guess what?----- I made an A in the class and only showed up for tests since that instructor made me so furious I learned the material better on my own than relying on lectures.

Now, the first thing that comes to mind when an instructor announces there will be no A's, is that they never made an A so no one else is going to.
